Because it happened between what looks like a set of Celtic supporters and its unclear who the guy supported but it looks like he was a rangers fan. Thats why it is getting reported because the OP knows it was celtic related.

Its not * though is it, you are passing it off as * because you don't want celtic fans to be tarred with a bad reputation. If this is true and the OP has no reason to lie then the celtic fans acted in a disgusting manner and cannot be excused from their behaviour.

    It is *!

There is no facts to back up this story whatsoever, only the word of some anonymous person on a forum.

I may be totally wrong but I do recall on another thread very similar to this about some poor catholic chap being beaten to an inch of his life by some thugs, you summed the people up as "sick disgusting subhuman creatures".

How awful it was for you to look down on such people. It read as if you seem to think you are better than them. In any case, these kind of beating go on all the time - I dont even know why you took the time to post your thoughts or why you care at all?

Couldnt be due to sharing a favourite football team with one guy but not the other could it?

Look I'm not going to come in one night and decide to go on the laptop and make up something on forums. Why would I ??
As for people saying it's a non event because it happened in Glasgow, don't post here because all you're doing is starting an argument

That Calton one was * all to do eith Celtic or Rangers by the way, I know that for a fact. Was a fee Huns who had previous with a few of the bhoys who drink in there. Nothing to do with football whatsoever, they went into The pub to start it and got slapped about.

Padmill knows the lads and told me about it.

Shocking. Hope they catch those responsible.

I dont give a * who supports who. There is such a thing as being a decent * human being. Singing about the Ibrox disaster is never acceptable, and even less so on public transport with people trying to go about their business FFS.

The problem is that as long as their are apologists like on here this sort of * will never stop, be interesting to hear if it was the other way round and one of ours has his head stoved in for asking people to stop singing pish about the famine and the Pope if that would be ok also!

Just heard the same story on the radio but the media are reporting it as a sixteen year old who took a beating after asking for a group of four to stop singing "sectarian" songs.

He was taken to hospital in Paisley apparently.

All this type of behaviour saddens me. It's all so idiotic and petty. Our fans are a cut above the Rangers fans, but there is still a minority who will happily tarnish the clubs name with this kind of nonsense.

    I hope the kid's okay!

If it had been any other drunk group of fans on this planet the same thing would have happened, I don't accept the boy taking a beating has any bearing on celtic football club or any of it's fans at all. what tends to happen when you smack someone in the face is you get hit back harder... especially if that person is part of a drunk rowdy group (celtic fans or not)

Don't care how the media are reporting it, We have a eye witness on here who posted the thread before the media got wind of any story.

British Transport Police (BTP) are investigating an assault on a teenage boy who asked four men to stop singing sectarian songs on a train.

The 16-year-old was punched around the head and body shortly after the 16:42 Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock service departed on Saturday.

The suspects then got off the train at Barrhead and left the station in the direction of Carlibar Road.

The men, who are believed to be Celtic fans, are all aged in their mid-20s.

One of the men was wearing a grey striped football top with green sleeves.

    Football top
A second man is described as being around 6ft, with blond hair.

A third man had short brown hair and was about 5ft 8in tall, with a heavy build and was wearing a green and white football top, black tracksuit trousers and training shoes.

A fourth man is described as being about 5ft 11in tall, with a thin build, short brown hair and was wearing a black jacket and navy trousers.

BTP said a bottle was thrown and smashed during the incident.

The teenager was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and later released after treatment for cuts to his head and face.

CCTV footage from the train is being viewed in an bid to identify those involved.

Det Con Raymond Grimley, of BTP, said: "This was a violent and unsavoury incident leaving other passengers on the train shocked.

"Although we have very clear CCTV footage of those involved, I am urging anyone who was on the train or at the station and has knowledge of the identity of those suspected of the assault to contact BTP as a matter of urgency."

I because you have so many options when something like that happens, if it had been the other way around you would be going mad. so stop trying to pass this off as okay just because it happens every week it doesn't make it okay

Personally I wouldn't have approached them but put yourself in his position, your sitting on the train listening to that sort of *, you ask them to keep it down and then take a couple of personal insults, what your reaction be to that?
