Getting excited now for the new season. After watching one or two races per year for a few years, last year was my first one where I really got into it. I hear that it was kind of boring by F1 standards, so can anybody say whether this one will be "more" interesting? I say that in quotations because I still loved it. From what I understand Red Bull are in a bit of trouble, Mercedes is not, and Lewis Hamilton is the favorite as a result.

Excellent drive from Hamilton today, Ricciardo and Magnussen too. Will be interesting to see if Mercedes can turn a decent quali into a decent race, which they seemed to struggle with last year.

In response to the last post the "interesting" part of this season is that nobody really knows what's going to happen. Last year Vettel won almost everything and the fun stuff was the scrapping behind him. Sort of like the SPL :) This year one of about 4 teams could easily win races. Red Bull will almost certainly come good at some point, but they're not going to have it their own way.

Also with the new engines and rules there will be more breakdowns which adds even more unpredictability.

Mercedes won it already id say!

I have to say ive lost a bit of interest with DiResta being humped out!

Maybe pick it up again when the European races kick in!

F1 is * this year, same as last year. Not competitive enough, give me BTCC any day.

Mercedes are walking it. The only decent thing is the Rosberg/Hamilton animosity. Lewis is getting more and more paranoid as the season goes on.

I don't know. It was * the last few years when Vettel was walking it and Webber was nowhere near, but I'm enjoying the Mercedes battle just now.

I agree about BTCC though. Looking forward to Knockhill, and I'm tempted to make the trip down to brands hatch later in the year. Got a mate in Kent who's up for it too.

Yeah I'd agree the Mercedes battle is good but the potential for only 1 of 2 drivers winning a race is a bit boring.
Always wanted to take a trip over to Knockhill, its my favourite track of the calendar.

No surprise there. Tantrums are his specialty. As to be honest it is for all of them :smiley-laughing002:
It's nice to have a little friction back in the sport. Vettel winning sucked the life out of it.

You should go for it, a great day out. Try and stand on the main straight, just before the curves. From there you can see probably about half the track, and you get alot of the overtaking after the main straight. The only point that you can't see that you'd really want to is the hairpin.

Lewis Hamilton is a whiny wee *. I really hope Nico Rosberg goes on and wins the Championship this year.

On another note, these rule changes in F1 have been an utter fail. They wanted to change the rules so that Red Bull couldn't dominate anymore but all they've done is succeed in creating a climate where Mercedes dominate instead. :smiley-laughing002:

    Totally screwed it up.

I love how they are now trying to test a 'megaphone' exhaust to recreate the sound of last seasons V8 engine - as though that will make it more exciting.

There was a ram raid at Red Bull's headquarters in Milton Keynes, thieves made off with over 60 trophies that the team had won

Not long now until the start of the new season. Final preseason test is under way, always hard to tell with testing. I am hoping for a competitive season with at least a few teams in with a chance

Looking forward to the new season. Hope it's not dominated by one team this time. Glad that Williams are back challenging as well
