Formula 1 is so dull now. You don't even have to watch the race to know who won.

    Sound familiar?

Been watching F1 since 2001 and always been a huge fan since, and I honestly can't remember a season quite as dull as this one. Perhaps the British GP aside this season I'm not sure I can remember one entertaining race, it's a bit of a sad state of affairs.

Thankfully there's some big regulations changes coming into effect from next year which should almost certainly shuffle the pack up a bit again. If it keeps up like it has been this season then it'll just continue to drive more fans away from the sport unfortunately.

But you are watching a great driver potentially go to equal the most wins in a row (9).
    Thats more than worth watching.

Not to mention the fact its not his fault. Its been done before many times when a driver has killed a season.F1 will survive and prosper.
Im just glad it isnt one of the usual suspects running away with it.ie, Ferrari, McLaren.

Im amazed at how dominant Vettel is over Webber though.I mean its not as thought they deliberately make Webbers car *.You have to give Vettel a lot of credit......car or not.

(that said, yes it has been boring.)

But it's not exciting is it? That's what people watch sport for, and having someone win an unprecented amount of races in a row is far from exciting.

Say for example Celtic went on a winning run and won every single game this season, winning the league by 50 points by Christmas time. Do you think fans of other teams or neutral observers are going to sit up in excitement? They wouldn't, because there's no excitement there and would more than likely switch off instead.

Its not exciting only if you are focused on Vettel speeding away into the distance, the battle below him have been very good all races.

I applaud his victory's and it looks witnessing the greatest driver ever, who looks ever the more likely to go and beat Michaels records.

The racing has been OK this season although it hasn't been great compared to the last 7-8 years, primarily down to the ridiculous levels of tyre management required through the field.

I don't know if my memory is just failing me, but as I said above there haven't really been any races which have stuck out at me as being great this season even when you look further down the field. Even for the top 7 or 8 places in the championship standings it's been pretty much a foregone conclusion going into the last few races. Hopefully that will all change next year.

All credit to Vettel, he's an excellent driver (still to be convinced whether he's a great racer) and has made the most of having one of the most dominant cars in F1 history. Whilst his car is undoubtedly the main factor in his success, not every driver could have achieved what he has.

Absolutely ridiculous decision by the bigwigs, a surefire way to alienate F1 fans.

Why? It's no worse than the old 'drop your worst result' that used to happen.

It's the same for all the drivers, it's not as if they have said it will be double points except for the person 1st in the Championship. Which i am surprised it's not tbh.
    That would ruin it.

It's a batshit crazy idea. Moto GP / BTCC is where it's at for next year I reckon.

It means every race is not equal, if someone wins Spa and the British grand prix thats worth the same points as the Abu Dhabi one now.
    Its a stupid decision.

It's a nice race to end with given the whole day to night aspect, in my opinion.

Thankfully he was wearing a helmet. The doctor just said he would be dead without it.
