Jorgensen's out injured till the end of the season so that rules out a move this month. Mentioned it in the suggestions thread but I'd love us to push the boat out for him or Prodl on a pre contract. Either of them would instantly be our best centre back.

PSV are supposedly looking at Jorgensen just now but reckon we could just about compete with them.

 

If we get him signed up on a pre contract they're hardly going to demand £2M ffs. :icon_mrgreen:

The guy's had 4 league starts this season so they'll probably be happy to get a bit of money for him and get him off the wage bill.

Bothroyd's record is awful and his attitude is even worse.

I haven't seen Salihi play, but just going by his record and the positives that people have listed make me think we'd be better going for the "Bomber."

 

I think we'll sign Salihi. Seems a bargain, one we can't afford to miss out on

 

We'll be hoping he'll have the same impact as Jelavic!

Sometimes Lenny seems to have a blindspot for English based players.

Chased Kelvin Wilson for ages & he's not impressed much (even before injury), Murphy was a Lenny priority signing & that's not to mention the bullets we dodged with his attempts to sign Bullard, James & Campbell.

Hope Lawell pulls rank on the Boothroyd pish & slaps him down.

 

appreciate the sentiment regarding Boothroyd but I would hate Lawell to be dictating who we buy........... as much respect as I have for him in negotiations he shouldn't be telling Lennon who he can or can't be interested in.

 

When it comes to Lenny's English based overpriced blindspot, then a CEO should be doing exactly that.

Ledley, Commons, Mathews & Hooper have all been English based, but we got them all for under £3m, include Wilson in that too.

But imagine Lawell let Lenny get Bullard, Campbell, James & Boothroyd, we'd be *!!

It's a partnership.

Lawell has us signing, cheap or young prospects - Lenny seems to like this approach, we should stick with it & go for the Albanian at £500k for a 27 year old, this is similar to the Commons deal last January.

 

Heres how it will pan out if we go head to head with the huns for salihi:

Celtic bid 400,000 -huns bid 50,000 both told to there offer.

Celtic up bid 500,000 - huns up bid 75,000

Celtic given permission yo speak to the player, rangers up bid to 100,000

Celtic sign player and introduce him to the fans and media, - rangers up bid to 300,000

Celtic play him next game, huns increase bid to asking price 500,000.

 

Haha it definitely seems like that's the Huns policy. Saw them linked with a second tier Spaniard earlier, who's valued at 2 mil, no doubt it'll take fat Sally ages to get past the 1 mil mark in negotiations-if they can even afford that!!! "The Bomber" at half a mill seems a must buy, out scoring Jellyfish and at a fraction of his price.....sign him up!!!
