I heard that stein was a protestant but didnt support rangers because his dad was a in the orange order and hated the bigotry. Dont know if thats true or no.

No they were all 100% Rangers fans and went to the games.

Im sure his dad never spoke to him for a good while when he signed for Celtic but then they made up again although his dad was still a hun.

yes steins father disowned him and his friends shunned him for signing for celtic as a player, provokiing a hatred in stein for rangers and bigotry, so you could say he was most defietly a tim.

tbh tho a lot of rangers fans have became celtic legends and i doubt that ever leaves them, they would always have a tie to the club and i could never see them supporting another scottish team over theirs.

As an aside - Cesar was indeed always a tim. His dad was in the army and was not a big football fan, but his uncle was a staunch Dundee Utd supporter. According to Cesar himself, his uncle "loved it when Celtic came to town" . If Celtic were playing Dundee, his uncle would go to the game in Celtic clobber :icon_mrgreen:

Indeed, Billy goes on to mention he was encouraged by his father to support the local team - Motherwell. But he was a Celtic supporter, first going to Celtic Park at aged 9, but having saw the team play Albion Rovers away the year before (a game in which Jock Stein played) :56:.

He does mention that he was forbidden from wearing Celtic colours by his dad purely because it was like "flaunting loyalties".

He goes on to say that, when Celtic became interested in signing him as a young boy, "there was no decision to be made other than to sign for my boyhood heroes".

Scott Brown was on the books of Rangers as a teenager but they wouldn't sign him because he was too small. Also in the house where he grew up there was a statue of Jim Baxter across the road, so maybe he was a Rangers supporter. Jock Stein grew up in a family of Rangers supporters so maybe him as well. Paul Lambert was a casual Rangers follower rather than a supporter. Davie Provan was a Rangers supporter and got some stick for it when he played for Celtic. Kenny Dalglish and Danny McGrain as well.

Nakamura, wee man used to play the flute marching down Bridgeton way when he was a bairn, legend has it than when he signed for Celtic his family sent him death threats from Japan. Loved Naka even more after hearing that!
