I'm looking for a gem of a new sitcom.

  1. ...Then believe me when I say I'm a MASSIVE fan of both of them! haha! I actually rewatched all of the UK Office a couple of weeks ago. The two special episodes are just epic television!

  2. I definitely think that the US version caters to a wider audience. But that in no small part could be afforded to the greater resources available, the creative freedom that was allowed due to the originals success and a vastly increased number of episodes per season.

I've really enjoyed 99% of the US Office, but the first 4 seasons particularly were amongst the best seasons of a comedy that you will ever see! ha!

I hope the new season carries on as it has, started of, not iffy, just not as strong as we would expect. Comparing with the previous seasons, yes it wasn't quite as good. But the last few episodes have been great! Still only around halfway through as well so all is looking good on that front!

  3. the new season is brilliant a thought steve carell would be a massive loss but the other characters make up for him

  4. Yeah, they have a diverse and interesting character base that can always throw up fresh and funny things.

I've started to watch an American High School Comedy. It's called Akward, I was skeptical about it, but it was high on a list of sitcom reviews for 2011. I'm on episode 3 now, I've been very impressed actually! hahaha!

  5. P.S. Just noticed I went up to a 3 star Talk Celtic user! YESSSSS!!! haha!

  6. already watched it. it's funny at times but not my cup of tea with some bird moaning about life at high school

  7. Have you ever seen Spaced and Black Books?

Only had 2 & 3 series but very funny.

  8. I just think it's quite well observed if you don't take it too seriously! ha!

No mate I haven't seen that, worth a watch like?

  9. top class show :50:

  10. Very under-appreciated show too. Shame it only had 2 series.

  11. The Middle
    My Name is Earl
    Pheonix nights
not really sure if it can be classed as asitcom but "Boston Legal" can be very funny.

Watching the king of queens again on comedy central by far the best sitcom ever!

  12. Spaced, IT Crowd, Nathan Barley, Still Game, Mighty bOOsh, Freaks and Geeks, Big Bang Theory, Ugly Americans

  13. I would recommend Rev. It was on BBC2 a few months ago now, very funny

  14. I greatly appreciate all the shows being reccommended! I hope that others can get something out of this thread other than myself! haha!

  15. Trailer Park Boys
    Nathan Barley
    Sports Night
    Lead Balloon
    Absolute Power.

  16. Community
    Peep Show
    Arrested Development
    The Thick Of It

All incredible in their own ways.

  17. probally going to sound stupid but what does sitcom stand for:52:

  18. I haven't seen Community but the other three for me are peerless, absolutely perfect comedies.
