Did I already mention this? :101::icon_mrgreen:

Yeah I would be delighted with Boruc too. :celt_2:

Does anyone know what the contract situation is with Boruc? I've seen a few people saying he's a free agent but I thought he still has a year left on his contract at Fiorentina.

Just because he's back at Newcastle doesn't mean a deal can't still be done, it's not like he's signed for a new club. I'm still very hopeful he'll sign. If he doesn't then he can go * himself, I felt in his first season he was nothing more than a good shot stopper and was disappointed when we got him in for a second loan spell, we made him into the complete goalkeeper he is today. If he wants to mess us around and then * off then he's welcome to, but we all know he'll be rejecting silverware and Champions League football in favour of bench warming and relegation battles.

I genuinely think Gordon, Boruc and Robinson are better options ( in that order ). I think we should accept he is using Celtic as a last resort if he doesn't get a move to the premiership.

Forster in my opinion is nowhere near as good as the three keepers mentioned. I actually think he is incredibly over rated amongst our support. He had a very good game in Udinese and had an important penalty save against Hearts. But he is largely untested at the highest level and I feel this young squad would benefit from having an experienced keeper between the sticks.

Gordon I feel would be the best option but his injury record is a worry.
Boruc I would love to see but this is probably down to the fact of who he is/was more than anything else.
Robinson is a solid keeper with plenty of England caps and years of experience playing in one of the best leagues in Europe.

I'd be very happy with any of the 3 and would place Forster as my 4th choice.

quite confused by this tbh, no real direct qoutes, so will wait and see what happens.

just seems odd though that newcastle and celtic had an agreed fee. could be any number of reasons, celtic not meeting wage demands, or what i think may be happening here, is forster in the middle of pardew and his agent stirring things up.

i think people would pay over £2M for him, so pardew + agent might be waiting till loan officially runs out and then try punt him to the highest bidder. not sure ion the technicalities of loans and stuff, but it wouldnt suprised me if thats a possible agenda.

only speculation right enough, will still hold out for more info before calling him a * etc! haha

If we don't get FF on a permanent deal, I'll be gutted of course, but life goes on. It has to be Boruc as the next choice.

As an aside though, can we not ask to get him on loan for a third season running? I know it isn't ideal, but Newcastle don't want him and he obviously enjoys playing up here. It seems as though it is the agent that is causing problems, if rumours are to be believed.

The situation is, whether Fraser Forster is the right option or not, allowing him to leave us waiting publicly like this reflects badly on the club. Other targeted players will see this and know they can do the same without us pulling out the deal.

Move on and if he wants to come after all he can come to us and not the other way about.

Sums up my feelings tbh. Always thought the amount of improvement he made was massive only in context with how dodgy he was before December-ish :50:

    Absolutely not!

He either comes this time permanently or he doesn't - simple as that.

Although, if he does sign for Celtic - I would hope their first suggestion to Forster would be to get rid of his leach of an agent.

The agent works for FF not the other way round,if FF wanted to sign for us he would say to agent...look bawsack get it done.....end off.
FF is holing out for a english team to sign him,he used us to get in the shop window.
Celtic are just slow as * at getting deals done,so once this deal * up we will have weeks to wait for the next target to * us around.
Bye bye FF hope you got a cusion for yer next bench.

I can understand players wanting the best deals,in the long run FF will will be holding out for an EPL side if he has not signed yet.

Lenny will have another plan b,i would be looking at an alternative now,FF should not be holding up Lennys plans.

    now step it up Lenny

can we just close it and not waste our time and feeling on this wasters. i said months ago he wouldn't sign and each day the passes is confirming it. he is over rate by alot fans on here. He is poor keeper in my eye, has potential but i prefer if he wasn't here next season. We need really experience keeper for europe.

bit of a sorry state of affairs when the Celtic support starts calling Fraser Forster a waster.

he came here on loan because we didn't agree a permanent deal with his club at the time, gave his all and played out of his skin last season and now possibly wants to try his luck back home.

he owes us nothing, we helped develop him and I would love him to stay but to call him a waster is a disgrace in my opinion.

We probably had to pay a loan fee and maybe a percentage of his wage.

I don't think he'll sign now either. I would be looking at Gordon or Robinson before Artur I'm afraid. Great guy, and a smashing keeper when he first came, but has started too look a bit too "Coisty" for me.

    Well said mate :50:

I also struggle to comprehend how a GK who set the SPL clean sheet record in his first season, and then surpassed it in his second, can still be viewed as poor :97:

I'll hold out for an official statement from Celtic.

If Forster isn't going to sign i hope we move quickly and get Gordon in to have a look at and have his injuries assessed. He'd be my preference if we can't get Forster.
