I give him 2 years before he's the England Nr 1.

If he's still here at that point, well done big man.

Delighted for the big man today. No reason why he cant beat Van Der Sars UK record now.

Just had a read of the first couple of pages from this thread. Good for a laugh. Mostly positive, but a couple of calls for us to sign Craig Gordon instead because Forster was "not good enough".

    Made me smile.

    Just the League.

Chris Woods didn't even hold that record anyway, the old Celtic keeper Charlie Shaw does.

Shaw conceded in the 24th minute against Raith Rovers on 13th December 1913 and never conceded again until the 51st minute against Falkirk on 28th February 1914. Between those games he kept 13 clean sheets in a row. So his total minutes without conceding in all competitions was 1287 which is 91 minutes longer than Woods.

    There is the british record...

Not Chris Woods or Van der Sar who as mentioned conceded in the Club World Cup which is a competitive game.

Charlie Shaw played in all those games and went 1287 minutes between the goals for Raith and Falkirk.

Van Der Sars record is for league games only, not for all competitive games. Forster isnt far off though!

Apparently he's 90-something minutes off beating van der Sar.

Class goalkeeper and well-deserved. Probably one of the most overlooked English stoppers in my book.

I had people laughing in my face when I said this would happen! I said at the time he joined us for a second spell Forster will get a call up over the next season or two... Everybody just laughed at me like I was a *!

Always stood by him even when he couldn't really catch or kick a ball at times could clearly see there was a world class keeper in him still time to improve a lot more even though I don't know what area he has to work on

Most are like people on here at times they look for a bite! Especially when you clicking on there pages and they support teams like Birmingham Blackpool etc:56:

As I said to anybody if it's so easy why hasn't he or anybody else achieved it in decades ! People really don't have a * clue

Yes it's brilliant a keeper like van der sar could achieve it in the epl that goes without saying but for any keeper to keep the ball out of the net for so long is amazing no matter the opposition!

Don't get me wrong there where some who praised him by saying they want him to be England's number 1 people who actually know and watch us from down south !

If Forster goes another 137 minutes he breaks the European record of Van Der Sar of 1311 minutes and if he goes 7 matches plus 12 minutes he breaks the world record of 1816 minutes.

These are just for league games.

    Sorted:50:

So he could beat Van Der Sar's record in the 8th minute at Home against ICT and if he keeps on going then he could break world record in the 43rd minute against Dundee utd at Tannadice.
