You give Venglos far to many column inches. :smiley-laughing002:

You are totally correct though. :50:

I thought he could have done better for the second if im honest, have to get it out of the danger zone, it was a good free kick but he was there in time and put the ball right back into the 6 yard box, thought he could have done a bit better but thats me being overly critical.

Had a good game and wasn't at fault at all for the first.

Forster clawed the ball back into the middle, a classic goalkeeping error, you are not taught to do that by the goalkeeping coach. Don't know why everyone is giving Forster pass marks for the first either, though it was a wicked deflection he was stuck to his goaline like Evo Stick.

You can only get it out the danger zone when it's physically possible to do so. He had to claw it out almost from behind himself meaning if he had palmed it side ways he would have just pushed it in the net. It was a fantastic effort and probably the only realistic way he could have kept it out.

The first one I think he could have done better. The ball was going that way anyway, even of he moved to see it past the post the deflection still would have went to the same post and been saved. Seems he thought it was well wide and left it. 2nd was that hard he may have tried to put it sideways but he had no chance and had to hope for the best.

Incredibly harsh to blame him for either goal. The shot from Zapata was clearly going wide, you can't do anything about a wicked deflection. He done well just to save Balotelli's freekick as that was a great strike, I'd put more blame on the static defence for that one.

A few of his saves in the 1st half were quality too, especially the one from the Ambrose deflection.

Can't really see how he can be blamed for any of the goals.

The only concern I had last night is his indecisiveness when coming out.

I can't believe some people are saying he could have done better with the first. A shot that is nearly hitting the corner flag, which couldn't have ended up more in the bottom corner, with quite a bit of pace on it. No chance could he have done anything. The second goal is poor from our team as a whole. The first thing you get told is follow it in, when in situations like that. It ended up 4 on 1. Van Dijk was the only one who did, and was helpless. Forster done well to even get a hand on it in my opinion.

the second goal he could have done better with, was nowhere near a "wonder save"

For the 1st, you have to ask, why did Izzy, who was standing on the left of the goal, stick his right foot out? Unless he was going to hoof it, the ball was only going in the direction of the goal. For the 2nd, you have to ask, why 4 Milan players got to the ball before 1 of ours, and even the one, Efe, looked as though he was doing the hokey kokey. Our guys switched off at the free kick....especially Izzy. As you'll have gathered, not a fan of his defensive qualities.

How can you say especially Izzy? Surely he switched off just the same as everyone else that didn't follow it in. To suggest that he was worse than anyone else not for doing so is nonsense.

As in regards to the first goal, there is hardly any player in the world that wouldn't have tried to block the shot, because it's a natural reaction.

I know mate, absolutely mental. In fact, it's * crazy that there is more talk of the negatives today than the positives......

How the * can he be blamed for the second goal - was his job not to save the free-kick? Aye, well that's exactly what he did.

If the ball ended up back in the penalty box area, then the only ones who can be blamed for the goal are the rest of our players who never reacted as fast as theirs to the rebound.

    Simple.

It was the only place he could put it. He done very well to get to it a d to get as strong a hand onto as he did was sensational.

Van Dijk was the only one prepared for that. Our defenders lost concentration.

Exactly, it was a wicked free kick that Forster had no right saving.

van Dijk was the only one who moved - not fast enough mind you - but aye the ONLY one.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
Forster had a grand game last night, and even mentioning blame for the goals being apportioned to him is entertainingly *.
