Every manager always bows to the top players in the squad,it's always like that..

They have too much of a say,the gerrards,lampards etc..

Too many golden boys,and they are never picked on form,I'm sure Hodgson even said that the other week that a certain player can't remember will always be picked if fit because he's one of there best players..
Which sends a * message to the rest..

 

deserved call up for the big man

 

When i think back to Man City dropping the reliable Shay Given for the "big name" England star Joe Hart, it was a complete travesty. Given's career went downhill rapidly while Hart got loads of glory, undeserved in my opinion.

 

If ever anyone need proof of this then this squad is it. How in the name of * did Barkley and Townsend get in there??? Townsend has played about 3 games for Spurs and spent most of his time on loan to some of the real giants of football like * Yeovil.

 

It's better he doesn't start as if he did I'd be against him anyway

 

Delighted for FF hopefully this will be the confidence boost he needed to get back to top form!

Aye, that'll do him a world of good. Why would you want any Celtic to player to fail internationally? I don't care if it's England or not, it looks good on Celtic if these players do well, that's all that matters.

 

Cos i don't give a * about England.

Edit.......it won't look good for Celtic if he does well,you will have the usual "he is too good for the SPL nonsense.

What looks good for Celtic is Celtic doing well in Europe.

Not our goalkeeper playing decent for a hugely over-rated National football team.

 

I'm the same as shelby,part of me would want him to do well because he's our player and the recognition but the other bigger part of me that wants them to lose and fail means I'd want him to fail or preferably not get a start..

That might sound strange to some but that's how I feel.

 

He only got in cos Ben Foster is injured..

 

It all adds up. Hypothetically, if he was to move up the pecking order of England goalkeepers, his value would increase.

This. I can't remember the last time Hart had a 5-6 game spell without * up. His No.1 spot won't even be questioned though. Now if the guy played for a less fashionable club like a Norwich or a Crystal Palace, he might get dropped.

Couldn't agree more with this. I want England to get * in everything they're involved in. If Hooper was still with us and got called up, would I want him scoring loads of goals for England? Would I *. As long as they do well in the hoops that's all that matters.
