Consistency breeds confidence - and not just with the individual, but with the 4 people standing in front of him as well. Absolutely invaluable.

 

I agree in theory but Forster is just as capable of making wonder saves as Boruc and McGregor as he has proved many many times.

 

Oh aye, that's not in doubt; just saying that that's just about the only positive on-field thing Boruc and McGregor can be remembered for, compared to guys like Forster and Bonner, who will be remembered for countless good displays (even on the days where they weren't making the wonder saves) and their overall consistency.

 

I think he will eventually eclipse him in my mind. Which is no mean feat considering his pretty much disastrous start to being here and the peak ability of Boruc when he was here

Forster has been,in my opinion, the best goalkeeper in the world this year.
Now, I'm not crazy. I don't think Forster is the best keeper in the world.. not by a long way. However his performances this season have been second to none.

 

Forster isn't at his best yet, and if he continues to improve, there's every reason to believe that, at his peak, he will be better than Boruc when he was at the top of his game.

 

I'd go along with that, although I've seen a lot more of Forster than of any of the other top-performing goalkeepers lately.

 

i see what you mean but hes always overlooked because of the SPL strikers, which makes sense tbh, Neuer has Lewandowski, Jan Huntelaar, etc.
Joe Hart has Van Persie, Ba, Mata, Rooney etc and Casillas has Messi, Falcao, Villa etc

who they play a few times a year and can keep clean sheets, Fraser Forster sadly looses clean sheets from players like Johnny Russell, Jamie Murphy, Jonny Hayes etc, who are decent players but not world class!

Think Forsters borderlining Boruc imo! Makes saves when needed and always shows up for the game, hopefully he keeps a form unlike borucs last season with us

Another good shift from the big man tonight. Was never really forced into anything spectacular, but looked confident, assured and ready when called upon.

 

It's a testament to how well we played that he had * all to do to tonight. Save yourself for the last 16 big man

 

I don't know if it's been mentioned already but BBC say Pedro believes he can be one of the best goalkeepers in the world and that he's on a par with Iker Casillas. Huge praise.

 

He made his first mistake tonight in about 5 years and it still didn't cost us.

Big man's a hero. Get him signed up to a 15 year contract.

 

When you're a keeper it doesn't really matter who's taking the shots. SPL players are well capable of taking shots better than Ronaldo or Messi might in a game. A shot is a shot and SPL players are professional and some international players. One of Forster's best saves came against St.Johnstone at Celtic Park.

 

Doesnt matter whos hitting shots into a keeper.

Could be Messi, could be a 20 stone Montrose carthorse of a striker, Keepers jut need to save them.

 

This may be controversial, but * Boruc. As great as he was he * let us down a lot. Forster is a better keeper.

 

Probably one of his quietest games of the season last night.....still been superb the whole group!
