Fraser Forster

You should judge a keeper by his mistakes not his great saves and since he came to parkhead he's had very few.Boruc made many great saves but had plenty of clangers.

 

There's a clip on the BBC of the EPL pundit drones talking about an England XI made up of uncapped players. Forster isn't in it but a pundit says "and of course fraser forster could slot in there too"

 

Link mate? They're deluded * if they'd have Ruddy over Forster. Actually, hasn't Ruddy been capped? So has Butland. Who would they have over Forster?

 

whats sad is that it's taken two out of this world performances against Barca for english media to actually even blink in his direction, whats worse is he would have to do that every game in europe to stay in limelight of getting a call up while he is a celtic player.

what wound me up on the weekend was watching soccer am for the first time in a long time and they had butland on and they dubbed him the new Joe Hart? sorry but after the saves Forster has been pulling out and * big time clangers Hart's been dropping especially Ibra's stunning goal for Sweden which in all honesty should have never in a million years of happened is butland second in line to Hart, if hodgson actually had the * balls to drop Hart based on form Forster is easily englands no.1/no.2.

but hey ho in the "real world" only england based, english players are good enough for england

 

I watched that too, absolutely ridiculous. No doubt that Butland is reasonably talented, but Forster's performances at the highest level in club football (CL) far surpass anything Butland has shown so far by far.

I agree, I would say Butland and Hart are reasonably talented keepers but Forster is improving so fast and to such a high standard that it just frustrates me so much that he is not looked at as highly as the others are just because he is in the SPL?

In the end how many keepers could show the agility and reaction speed to pull out the saves he has and lets not forget Forster is a bulky 6'7 guy

I'll judge a keeper on their overall ability. Boruc at his best was a better goalkeeper than Fraser Forster.

 

I would perhaps agree on the ability Fraser also has time on his side there though, but Boruc also cost us more points as well.

 

I like my goalkeepers reliable. Boruc was world class at his best but there was a period of his Celtic career where he could not be relied on. If Forster can continue to play well consistently and improve his game even further, then give me the big man every single time.

 

Ditto. 'Keepers like Boruc and McGregor make occasional wonder saves, and occasionally have games you would rate at 9/10, but just as often they're found out at 4/10 or worse. I'd rather a guy like Fraser Forster who's consistently between 6-8/10 and improving all the time.
