Top class tonight. Can't believe Jack Butland got an England call up this week and Forster still doesn't get a look in. He's improved so much, and he was so commanding tonight, got to every cross despite being fouled at just about every corner they had.

He should have been 2nd choice GK going into the Euros IMO. Ruddy & Butland better that him?! No chance!

I would expect a keeper of his size to dominate at corners, it was a weakness of his in the past so he has clearly worked on it. Good punch on him.

He has clearly been working on that for the last 6 months or so. He had anything that came near him tonight, he has had for a long time now.

I laugh in the face of any credible outlet suggesting the likes of Butland, Ruddy or Green are better than Forster. They simply are not and that is a completely unbiased view.

As quality as Thompson and Sutton were when they played for Celtic and at the highest level in the Champions League, England had other options of a similar or greater ilk. That is not true of Forster, there is only 1 keeper who can seriously be considered as better and that is Hart.

That tonight reminded me of an Artur Boruc Champions League performance. The big man just seems so comfortable now. Even the times he got impeded, he met the crosses with a strong right fist sending the ball well out of harms way. Well done big man!

Sutton maybe, but they never had a left midfielder better than Thommo.

It's just more arrogance by looking down their nose at the Scottish game.

I'd agree with Sutton but tey were cryin out for a left sided midfielder at that time. Eventually put Scholes there, arrogant twats.

Remember this was round the time Henrik Larsson "couldn't be all that good"

It's not an unbiased view though no matter how hard you try to be objective. Also, you don't watch these players play every week so you can't really make an accurate judgement.

You just beat me too it :56:

I've never seen Butland play so I can't pass comment but big Fraser is miles ahead of Ruddy, absolutely miles.

Joe Cole and Steven Gerrard were both playing left mid for England when Thommo played for Celtic. I'm not saying they were better options for that particular position but they were both quality players. In comparison the likes of Ruddy and Butland aren't in Forster's class.

Name me 1 person who watches; Butland, Ruddy and Forster in every minute of every game and I will agree with you.

We consume enough English football nowadays to understand who is good and who isn't. I've seen Butland and I've seen Ruddy in numerous games. Enough to know that Forster, when he is as imperious as he was tonight, is a class above both.

Joe Cole wasn't yet, at least early 2000's and Gerrard was in the middle. Paul Scholes was playing left midfield, which was baffling.

    Beckham Gerrard Scholes Thompson

    Shearer Owen

would have been very good for them. * the arrogant * though.

Was brilliant tonight. Fair play to the big man, I was never his biggest fan but he has been brilliant this last year. Hope he keeps it up and he gets his call up

No I don't have to name anybody who watches them play every minute; the point I'm making is that you presumably watch every game Forster plays in but the same can't be said of the other players, so you can't make an accurate comparison. I'm sure Norwich fans would be adamant that Ruddy is better and their opinion, like yours, would not be unbiased.

The shot stopping ability has been there from day 1. It was areas like commanding his area and coming for crosses where he needed to show some improvement, and he has. I'm glad to see some of the people who didn't rate him at one stage beginning to appreciate his value to the team now.

I think Forster's done really well for us since he came here. And I don't just mean this season, I include both of his loan spells in that.
