    I'm not picky.
Hopefully just a matter of confirmation on this tomorrow now.

Great to see him staying on AND with it tied up pretty quickly as well :50:

Very important signing. Also £2m is an absolute bargain! All is looking good, A target man is the next main priority and then hopefully a Left Winger and a Centre Half.

Relieved this looks to be going through now. He's solid just now, the fact he's contributed to breaking numerous clean-sheet records just backs that up. He's got plenty time to work on anything he needs improving and I'm so glad he looks to be staying.

Definitely a bargain at that price.

yep, if we can get this finalised and confirmed tomorrow i'd be over the moon.

he has areas of his game to work on, sure, but we wont get a better keeper anywhere for that kind of money.

Not done & dusted yet but looks a certainty now! Pity this wasn't confirmed weeks ago if everyone already knew...

Either way, it's great news - now lets go get the other positions sorted asap!!!

    Hail Hail

It'll be good to get this one finally tied up and put to bed and we can move ahead with getting the other signings needed in.

I will be very very happy if this is 100% finished, i've said before if we only sign one player in this summer I want it to be Forster.

I will be perfectly happy going into next season with the current squad, and having a consistent back-line is one of the most crucial factors in whether we are successful or not.
Just look at how we were 3rd in the league until we got our best defenders fit and then went what was it 26 game sun unbeaten?

Having a quality goalkeeper, with bags of potential, who already knows everything and everybody at the club, is a massive bonus and almost something you can't put a figure on - so to get all that for 2 million is * fantastic.

Celts close to securing deal with Forster

FRASER FORSTER could finally put pen to paper on a four-year contract at Celtic within the next few days.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon has been trying to make the giant keeper his permanent No.1 since he arrived on loan from Newcastle at the start of season 2010-11.
The Tyneside club initially refused to sell, but last August agreed a £2million fee as part of the second loan agreement which brought Forster north for another year.
Personal terms have been the stumbling block in activating that sale, and an offer has been on the table for several weeks.
Lennon was frustrated by the failure of Forster's agent, Mark Curtis, to contact the club and open discussions.
The fear was that he was trying to hawk Forster around clubs in England, where wages would be higher.
The added carrot for Forster was that playing for a club down south would improve his chances of making the breakthrough at international level, and QPR and West Ham have been credited with an interest in him.
Now, after the manager held talks on the phone with Curtis, the agent is preparing to nail down a deal with chief executive Peter Lawwell.
Forster this week returned from holiday and Curtis confirmed: "I'll call Peter Lawwell on Thursday and arrange a time to meet and try to finish things off. We need to.
"Fraser's been away, but I spoke to him and know where we need to be. I will now arrange to meet Peter.
"Other clubs are not in his mind. Does he want to stay at Celtic? Yes."
It will be a huge relief for Lennon to finally secure a keeper, and the focus will now switch to bringing in the central defender and striker he needs.

Nothing done and dusted yet so I am not going to get too excited about this news yet. But if we indeed do sign Forster on a 4 year deal for 2m I think that would be an excellent piece of business for the club. We could then concentrate on looking for a quality center back and target man up front which I think are our 2 other main needs.

Read an article on a Newcastle website which stated that he is affectionately nicknamed "Lurch" by Celtic fans.......... I have NEVER heard him being referred to as "Lurch".
