After not getting picked for England today after Ruddys injury I'd be surprised if he signs for us

Butland has been reserve keeper since the squad was announced.

    Stupidly, I may add.

If you play in Scotland you`re never going to get picked for England he must know this.

Look how well Thompson and Sutton played for us in the past and couldn`t get a * look in.

    Woy Hodgson is a pwick.

its better he gets a good break and lots of rest, rather than go to a tournament and sit on the bench. if he stays and has a good champions league that will do his england prospects the world of good. he is definately better than Green.

England's loss. Hopefully he has a bit of Irish or Scottish in him and gets selected for one.

He is best not getting picked at this late stage! It would not do his career any good if he made a mistake and the English press gunned him down!!!

Nothing short of a joke that he hasnt been picked as backup. He should be ahead of Green anyway. Sit in an office full of Hammers fans and they do nothing but ridicule the guy so Its not like anyone actually thinks Green is a decent keeper anyway. Yet he's Englands no. 2 This 19 year old keeper hasnt played a single first team game for Birminham City, a championship side. Forster has now played an entire season for a title winning side and has played in europe against some very good sides from the best leagues in Europe. Just shows what the English think of us. Oh the rage....

That decision is laughable. I hope England fail badly this euro.

Pretty * off with this tbh. Wouldn't surprise me if Woy didn't even know who Forster was.

Listenin to Talksport and even they are * off that Forster has been overlooked in favour of a guy who was playin for Cheltenham last season. A disgraceful decision. Suppose it's best for us in a way but as someone said before this sort of * could stop us attracting decent English players.

I can understand the decision to pick Robert Green ahead of Fraser Forster but the fact that Forster hasn't even been deemed good enough to be the 3rd choice goalkeeper really does show you what people down south think of the game up here.

I don't really have any wish to see Celtic players playing for England but I feel sorry for Forster that he's not going to be part of the squad. I also worry that the exclusion of Forster may make Gary Hooper sit back and think 'My chances of getting a game for England are zero while I'm up here'.

Haven't read the last couple of pages, so someone has maybe said something similar.....

I guarantee the decision to call up a guy who has been playing at Cheltenham instead of Forster who has played in a championship-winning side, has played in Europe and has put in a fine season will be the final straw in his decision to sign for us.

Absolutely incredible the decision by Hodgson and/or his staff.

Best start gearing up to sign Boruc, Gordon or someone else.

Im sure forster isnt badly bothered.
With the champions league qualifiers coming up would missing out on a place as 3rd choice at the euros really bother you.
Also why risk an injury when odds of him gettin a match are slim

Sign Gordon and we end up with Zaluska in between the posts as soon as Gordon gets injured for a season.

    Welcome to the forum :50:

I don't think it's all about being bothered about being picked to be first choice, but knowing the fact that this league is being looked down upon.

I think he is a guy who wants to be playing at the highest level, and whether he thinks that lies with Celtic? I'm starting to think not.

I know mate - he's an excellent goalkeeper when fit, but we all know those days are few and far between!

I quite like Zaluska to be honest, and think he deserves at least a crack at being number 1 - he might end up being really good for our team.

    Thank you!!

Totally agree about the spl gettin looked down upon. Frustrates the * out of me, but it was no different when thompson was shining in europe with us.
    Chris Sutton is another.

But i genuinely believe that the feeling amongst our squad is why would you play anywhere else. Theres very few teams down south who have the support, the love and the atmosphere our fans bring to a game.
Some may argue the point of more money, but would you rather be lifting trophys, giving the odd skelping in europe and a hero to 60000 or would you rather fight for survival in a relegation battle, give a good run in the fa cup and just another squad number to 20000 fans for a few dollars more...

Im possibly just being jaded but i believe theres more to playing for us than money!!!
