    CELTIC moved quickly today to rubbish a newspaper report that claimed Rangers' striker Kris Boyd would be signing on at Parkhead.

    The Scottish Sun claimed Boyd would be getting £30,000 a week and a £1million signing on fee.

    But a statement on the official Celtic club website laughed off the ludicrous claims.

    A club spokesman said: "Welcome to the silly season

    Lennon was asked at a packed press conference I would imagine, and if he were to have answered a straight no it would have been suggested by the Scottish press that it was a religious motive for saying no. Thus resulting in the Celtic manager being charged under the new Scottish legislation and being banished to the dungeon in Edinburgh Castle, where he would be kept in chains hand stitching Saltires into Fat Alexs' ginormous y-fronts or sharpening Nicola Sturgeons moustache trimmer :50:

    Honestly not sure what to think about this tbh. Boyd is a proven goalscorer in the SPL, and let's face it he's nothing but a poacher, so he can only score when the chances are made for him, which he'd get more of here than he did at Kilmarnock or the huns. Also it would be hilarious to see the huns reaction. Then again he is a fat hun who we were all laughing at the possibility of rejoining them. Can't see it happening myself. Doubt he'd come here given that he's a boyhood rangers fan who gave his best years to them.

    Obviously Kris Boyd will never be a Celtic player. I just don't understand why the manager doesn't come out and say "You honestly think I'm interested in a man that, upon breaking the SPL scoring record, mocked a Celtic legend to the delight of many Rangers fans?"

    * off. Saw some fans on the news who'd be happy as long as he produced his previous Scotland form. Disappointing.
