A Bola is reporting that both Real and Atletico are looking at Benfica's Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak as a possible target. His release clause is said to be 20 million euros.

Gutted Larrivey signed for Celta on a free. :54:

Bringing in Manucho as a replacement compounds the misery.

Mourinho coming out and denying interest in Modric & Varane. Khedira linked with a move away and possible replacements Verratti (though PSG want Benzema) who's already in contract talks about renewing. Greizmann also on Real's list to replace Alvaro Morata.

    Higuain heavily linked to Barcelona.

    Interesting.

I'm not sure he'd fancy competing with both Ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo.

Toni Kroos future to be decided after the World Cup. 1 year remaining on his contract I think, fee in the region of €20-33million. Madrid bound looks likely

Why? He is 34, obviously past it and looking to top up his pension.

Good on him. He's had a brilliant career up til now.

Signing players for the sake of it.

If UEFA weren't a bunch of corrupt * they would be kicked out the CL.

A wouldn't say past it is the right term for Xavi just yet. He's past his peak aye, but could still do a cracking job for a number of top European sides.

Wonder how Bayern arent desperate to sign him up? is he asking for a lot of money? or is he not a Bayern fan, maybe supports another Germany team so is ready to move on?

Kroos is one of the best players about, great passer of the ball, Barca should get him to replace Xavi. Him and Rakitic have good legs and are creative, would be a good move from the slower more pedestrian Iniesta, Fabregas and Xavi.

    Busquets
    Kroos Rakitic
    Sanchez Messi Neymar

Aye, probably still better than Pirlo. Could move to a club where he can sit in deep and dictate the game. Scholes was still getting a game for Man U up to 2 or so years ago and id say Xavi is still better now than Scholes was even 10 year ago. Gerrard also done a great job in that role for Liverpool last season and Xavi is still a lot better at it than him.

Man U, Liverpool, Dortmund, Juventus. Basically anyone would get better from having him in their team except maybe Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Only thing is Xavi may actually be ready to call it a day and wants to wind down and retire.

Was thinking about it the other day with the Spain team, a lot of their players must be choking for a rest more than anyone else in World football. Most of the team from Barca and Real Madrid playing under excrutiating pressure every season for years always getting to the semis and finals and Leagues going to the wire. You forget how hard it is to cope and just keep going to never let you're standards slip.

Xavi probably hasnt had a decent break or been able to relax in football since over 9 years ago. As since 2005 really Barcelona were always challenging for everything and it was 2006 when Spain kicked off the Euro 2008 qualifiers they went on to win since then he'd probably been playing about 70+ games a year all going for all the trophies.

In the last 7 years Xavi has played 411 competitive games for Barcelona and 86 games for Spain 497 games in 7 year average of 71 games a year + then pre-season friendlies on top so probably over 75 games a year every year 7 year in a row. Which is on average a game every 4.8 days for 7 year.

So for say £70,000/week, he's played under 2 games a week, for the last 7 years.
    feel sorry for him :-/

Playing is probably the easiest part of the job. Its the training, excercise, diet, travelling, pressure and being a "celebrity" that's the hard part.
