It will be interesting to see how the TV deal with the state pans out. Football seems to have been caught and used as a weapon in a war between Kirchner's government and Grupo Clarín - with the player's union demand for £6.4m in back wages the catalyst for Kirchner, now using some £95m annually of taxpayers money to fight a political battle. That may come back to bite.

Good to have around for that knowledge.

 

They were easy to watch when I first started watching football from that region, so seen them more than anyone else. They also seemed quintessentially Brazilian at that time, which I would learn often means having just as many negatives as it does positives.

But yeah, just being a brazilophile teamed with the watching them a lot got me hooked on them, as you learn the history and songs and traditions of the club.
