That's what I was thinking as well, same with Wanyama. Could have easily killed 2 birds with 1 stone by making our path to the group stages much easier and getting more money by waiting and making people desperate.

    * it though, it's done now for another year! And at least we've not spunked money on someone * like Doyle or Odemwingie.

I agree just look at Spurs and how they done their business,we let out big players go early meaning everyone knew we had money instead of money due to come in

€12m Bruma to Galatasaray, lots of press saying "(insert media outlet) has learned that Bruma deal is done." But nothing official yet

    Moyes can't be very happy.

Made bids for Thiago, Herrera and Fabregas plus Baines and Coentrao and didn't get either of them. Both starting XI players too.

Clearly wanted a midfield link-man with defence and attack and a left-back.

Kei Kamara (was at Norwich on loan last year) signs for Middlesbrough from Kansas City. Be interesting to see how he fares. He's a very "Championship" kind of player.

What was spent by clubs in England this window? What about Europe?

Terrible window for Man Utd, never got any of their top targets, and then paid over the odds for Fellaini.

I think they wanted Lukaku on loan too, they didn't get him so I presume they weren't willing to let Long go without getting someone else in. They also sold Odemwingie.

On the other side of that, Everton had an exceptional transfer window, got Lukaku on loan, McCarthy and Barry who are more suited to Martinez's style of play.

Aye, a great final few hours for Everton. I think the 3 they brought in will help get them up the League. Because i'll be honest, they were my outside relegation contenders from the beginning of the season. I thought they might lose both Baines and Fellaini.

However, keeping Baines is great news, and I think the 3 additions yesterday will have a positive impact.

Still don't understand why there wasn't more interest in Lukaku. If i was Wenger i would have been all over that deal
