Sportsmail understands that Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is hopeful a deal to sign Nicklas Bendtner on loan is still on. He believes that the deal depends on Arsenal securing a striker before tonight's deadline though.
Reports suggest that the striker could be Demba Ba in a loan deal - but it seems there are a number of clubs involved in that chase.

Sportsmail's Dominic King reports: 'This has been developing all day but Victor Anichebe is almost certain to leave Everton and join West Brom.
'The two clubs have agreed a deal, in the region of £5million, and he is now travelling to the Midlands to discuss personal terms. Anichebe actually scored his first goal in the Barclays Premier League against West Brom, way back in May 2006.'

QPR still hope to complete Carroll loan move from Spurs
Mail on Sunday's Joe Bernstein reports: 'QPR are still in the box seat to sign Tottenham Hotspur and England under-21 midfielder Tom Carroll on loan despite no confirmation so far.
'Spurs want Carroll to sign a new contract before he leaves for Loftus Road and he was also training with the England senior squad on Monday afternoon hence the delay.
'Of course, with Rangers in the Championship the deal doesn't actually have to be done by 11pm tonight though Harry Redknapp would prefer it. Carroll has chosen to go to Loftus Road despite also being courted by Watford, Crystal Palace and Ajax.'
