It had been included in the match report before any of the 3 of them spoke about it though. This is the reason they were * off and spoke out. Lawwell has just written a check for 15,000 Euros and is very possibly going to have to write another. The thought of writing checks must keep him up at night.

I don't give a * if the press or the internet makes a big deal about it. I am interested if UEFA are going to fine us more money. If the board are seen to be taking a hard line with this stuff then they can show UEFA they're trying and hopefully not end up in the same boat as the huns behind closed doors (I realise we've got a way to go before that but I'd rather it wasn't even a possibility).

What about Lawwell shouting abuse at fans in the airport who had absolutely nothing to do with the banner, flare or even the GB?

To be honest thats a fair point, but we have to move with the times.
And lets be honest under strachan and o'neill we always had outsiders commenting on how well behaves the faithful are. Right now we are getting all kind of unwanted attention. The manager and club wants us to turn it down, and as ever we should back celtic and everything celtic want to do.

Maybe not but I trust what I've been told, there is absolutely no reason for these people to make it up.

I'm going to go with facts rather than hearsay. The press would have been all over this if it had happened. No way they wouldn't.

It time to cut out all this nonsense, I don't really give a * about Peter Lawwell's or the Green Brigades viewpoints on flying such banners, all I want is for our great club to be free of such incidents, it's dragging Celtic Football Club's name through the gutter.

These so called supporters are inflicting more misery on Celtic than the Huns have ever managed, it's time for to tow the line of the vast majority of Celtic supporters and support the club rather than be trying to divide it.

If your into politics go and join a political party or form your own, just leave Celtic Football Club alone to get on and watch Neil Lennon's team win the SPL title this season, that's what I call a worthy cause !!!

Green Brigade are dragging the club down with their banners, the latest being worse than plain stupid. What good did they expect to come from the f*** UEFA one, other than UEFA viewing Celtic Fc in a negative way. Dont get me started on the Bloo(d)stained Poppy banner, again what good did they expect to come from that ? Did they believe that praise would be heaped upon Celtic and its support for that display too ?

I love the atmosphere and singing that the GB bring to our games but do they really need to use our great club as a means of demonstrating their political views at the same time. Surely if they were true fans of Celtic that they would take note of what our celtic through & through manager tells them & what the club also asks of them, but they view themselves as being bigger than the club and that for me is where they let themselves down badly

Totally agree. They're always trying to prove a point or argue with someone. Just support the team FFS, instead of getting us in bother.

That banner on Thursday was just incredibly cringe-worthy. Like something a 15 year old ned would create.

I liked the banner. I can assure you I'm not a ned, or 15.

ive not read through all of the pages but what i will say is i agree fully with what neil lennon had to say.

what people need to appreciate is he isn't a fan any longer, he is the manager. even if on a personal level he agreed with the sentiment of the banner he still has to condemn it publicly. did he go too far? possibly, but i think this comes more from frustration than it does from genuine disdain for the GB.

i agree that everyone at the club got behind neil 100% last year when times were very, very difficult for him. my opinion is though we done that because he is one of our own, because we know wrong from right, because we are all neil lennon. i didnt think we done it so we could shove it down his throat the first time he says something in the media we dont agree with.

im a great believer in our songs not being illegal, sectarian or "illicit" but unfortunately the powers at be tell us otherwise. we now have no choice but to head UEFA's warnings or it will be the club that suffer in the long term. i do not want to harm celtic's finances or reputation so i will be towing the party line from now on.

i dont care what the animals say but i care what happens to celtic football club.

Sorry mate but that's false. As Devlin already says earlier in the thread - if we (that is, any and all fans) had backed "Celtic" and everything they wanted to do the rebels would not have won.

It's more complex than simply following the club blindly on everything. There's absolutely no reason people should be made to feel unable to stick to their principles simply because it disagrees with others :50:

The only bit I don't agree with in what Lennon has said is in the title - Fan's let us down. No, a fan, maybe two fan's let us down. The rest that had paid their money for tickets and flights etc. they didn't let us down. Just that very small minority that again feels it's voice is more important than anyone elses.

Who said anything about imposters or real fans?, I don't see the point you're trying to make. Unless I've genuinely missed something I think people are reading far too much into this.
