Agree completely, although I've seen quite a few of those movies. I stay away from Superhero, Bond, and most sci-fi/fantasy movies if I can.

I've seen all the Rocky movies, they are ok but not anything special in my mind. Moneyball was great though and I'm surprised a baseball movie was done in a way that it got so much publicity in the first place.

All of christopher nolans films are grossly over rated because of his attachment to the dark knight trilogy. He's no more than a decent film maker who was lucky to get the batman job, his screenplays are better than his direction and thats for sure.

The Godfather has been mentioned on here a few times. For the life of me I do not understand how anyone can consider themselves a fan of film and actively dislike the Godfather. To me it is pretty much perfect!

Those trilogies are just phenomenal. Give them a chance, outstanding films - particularly LOTR.

    The Amazing Spider-Man
    X-Men: First Class
    Casino Royale and Skyfall

They 4 are all excellent as well:50:

As for films I don't get. Inception was gash, don't understand the praise it got. Total mindfuck.

In terms of movies with such big reputations, I'd go with Taxi Driver being a dissapointment. Heard so much about it, couldn't wait to see it. It took about 2 hours for anything memorable to happen. The ending was good I'll give it that but, don't get the hype about the film. Other than it influenced the whole Ronald Raegan assassination attempt and that was a bit mental but yeah, overrated film. As for tv shows, I know I'm the only guy in the planet that has this opinion, but family guy, think its absolute bollocks. I've tried about 10 times to get into it, just can't.

It's like The Beatles of films, if you don't at least appreciate it, I would seriously doubt your taste.

Films I don't get, not in terms of plot, but on terms of people 'liking' them are old black and white films that bore you to * tears but pretentious film fannies pretend they're wonderful. Can't think of specific films but just look at an IMDB list of greatest films or something and there'll be a few near the top. The only black and white film I've ever enjoyed is A Streetcar Named Desire (Marlon Brando & Vivien Liegh). The rest are just unwatchable (to me anyway). One film I don't get is Jason and The Argonauts (Rated 7.3/10 on IMDB). I've never actually watched it but it's always on TV around Easter for some reason; * kicking about in tin foil fighting you dinosaurs. I mean the special effects budget must have come in at around £1.54. How can you watch that and enjoy it? I know it was made in the 60s but come on! Surely no one looked at that and thought "This looks real!"

I know what you mean, although I did quite enjoy 'The Invisible Man'.
