    If Undertaker retires it will be at Survivor Series not Mania. If they ever intended to have someone beat the streak it would be someone groomed to be the next Rock or Austin and atm there is no one near it.

    You must remember that Rocky Maivia and The Ringmaster (terrible gimmick) became superstars very rapidly, a lot can happen in a year and you can use Austin and The Rock as examples of that. Taker won't be stopping for another 2-4 years and perhaps even longer (although I doubt it) so we've lots of time to see stars rise and fall. Undertaker is one of the biggest superstars in the past 20 years so of course he'll go out at Wrestlemania, that's the traditional end of both the fiscal and storied year for the WWE, the biggest superstars go out at the biggest event it's always been the case. Just look at Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley and Flair.

    You are quite right it is a business, a business which profits from marketable spots. One of the most legendary being Undertakers streak at WM. The gain from having someone defeat him, an up and comer with potential which it would have to be, is nowhere near the loss they'd make on revenue from marketing his streak and legacy far after he's retired.

    Are they going to release a DVD called 20-1? (or whatever the record ends up it). I can almost guarantee he goes down in history as having the greatest record at the greatest spectacle.

    Flair left on his back as he was an old man and it further cements 'Mr Wrestlemania' Shawn Michaels, there's another marketable spot.

    Actually if done right it could be far more profitable to have him lose, let's go back to Wrestlemania III where Hulk Hogan beat Andre the Giant who had been billed as undefeated in the WWF for 15 years. That match propelled Hogan to new heights of stardom and publicity for the whole business of professional wrestling which wouldn't be seen again until the Attitude era. Now if there is a wrestler which could hold the business on its shoulders at the time of Taker's retirement then it's more than likely the proverbial 'slam heard around the world' will take place.

    He will already go down in history with the greatest record, just not an undefeated one, an emotional loss could cap it off rather than just another win, he's had a great career far better than most have and it's not like his entire gimmick was just built around his record, people will want to see a Taker DVD no matter what happens and they'll pay for the it and they'll scream for him when he makes guest appearences whether he wins or loses, what else would he do for the company if he goes undefeated?
