I used to stay up and watch WCW Nitro on TNT - I think TNT used to be on after Cartoon Network finished at about 9pm? Anyway, that was years ago - now I'm almost 21 and haven't really followed it for a few years. Age probably has something to do with it, but the best matches and storylines were between, probably, 1995-2002.

The Bushwackers, L.O.D., Ultimate Warrior etc etc

All top level gimmicks of their time that would flop completely if they were introduced just now like a Boogeyman or a Highlanders....you get very limited runs with these talents in this period of time.

I'll still go again i think if not just for old times sake, last time it was in the SECC i ended up having 4 or 5 pints before it and had a great time!

Same I remember I first discovered wrestling by leaving cartoon network on one night and WCW came on TNT. Ah the NWO and Stings day, when it was a must watch every week.

The NWO storyline was awesome, truly awesome, for a couple of years then it just got stupid towards the end of WCW's reign. It was good when WWE brought it back again in about 2002 and then it died a death again.

Some of the matches in WCW were amazing. The ones involving Bret Hart, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, etc. When Hulk Hogan went to WCW it was incredible. Same with the whole Bret Hart Survivor Series 1997 thing.

Wrestling now is just brutal, though. I mean come on, John Cena? The Boogeyman? Do one.

for me that TNA is so much like the old wcw now

i remember there was MLW for a while and it was a carbon proper copy of ECW instead of the * WWE made sadly it died without much tv coverage

When ECW was brought back I thought I might get into but now it's just like a crap Smackdown - it even gets recorded before Smackdown, so I'm led to believe. What made ECW so great was the fact that anything went - now it's just crap.

TNA is low budget full of WWE rejects. Does Jeff Jarret still pretty much own the place?

ECW is just basically Sunday Night Heat, especially now with the new commentary team

Survivor Series 2002 was when it started going downhill for me. Wrestlemania XX was all right but that's about it since.

Anyone else remember when it started going downhill?

after they bought over wcw it went to * with pish gimmicks and predictable matches, WWE lost their edge because there is no real competition anymore

When did they split the brands, again? I remember the PPV - awesome it was - and when Jericho won.

The Shawn Michaels-Triple H storyline made the Survivor Series Elimination Chamber - the one where Triple H * up his neck, I think - really gripping.

Good point on the Hardcore Title. Is there anywhere they didn't have a fight in?

They split it sometime after Wrestlemania 2002, it got really bad for me around 2003 when Triple H was on top and had main events against Nash and Steiner

Yep. As I said, 2002 was the cut off point.

Goldberg ruined it, too. The * ruined Bret Hart's career.
