He might come good for Barca in the future, but Neymar has to be one of the worst signings of the season, when you consider the price tag he come with. I think he has been very poor. I still can't fathom out why they signed a player like him, when it's clear for everyone to see that they badly need a centre half. They badly need to invest in the team if they are to get back to where they were a few years ago, or even close to that. They are in danger of doing what the likes of AC Milan done, and letting all the top players age, and not replacing them.

If it was ok for PSG to spend about 50 million Euros on Silva when he was 27 then why is it not ok for Barca to do the same?

Even Vidic would have been a vast improvement as a stop gap for a couple of seasons.

Neymar will storm the World Cup, I have no doubts about it after watching the Confeds Cup. In Brazil he is the poster boy and he thrives on it.

His problem has been his Manager is playing him when and where he shouldn't be. He doesn't have a clue how to get the best out of a squad of world class talents. Playing Fabregas and Neymar either side of Messi was stupid and not even having the wisdom to see that at half time and alter it was stubborn and criminal.

He might well take the World Cup by storm, I have my doubts though. I watched him in the Confederations Cup and he was excellent, still a cheating rat, but judging him purely on football, he was superb. A different manager might well get the best out of him at Barca, but right now, he looks out of his depth. It's got to the point now, that he is being shoehorned into the team, because he certainly isn't in it on merit. It was the wrong signing for me, and there would have been plenty others I would have looked at before Neymar.

Neymar and fabregas look like square pegs in round holes to me. Unless he changes the style of play or drops a midfield man for favre gas there's no point in playing either of them.

Spending all that money on on neymar when they already had a great attack and badly needed a CB was mind bogglingly stupid.

So Bale can run fast for 60 yards and then poke the ball through the keepers legs.

Now on Sky Sports News he is suddenly the third best player in the world... Yeh the kid is a good player (not even in the great bracket yet) but he is one of the most over hyped players in world football by the English media. It's embarrassing!

I know. I actually feel sorry for him going for that price, that is why he will be getting criticised by the Spanish press. If he was bought for about £45-£50m nobody would have scrutinised him as much.

He's had a pretty good season imo, especially seeing as he's a young lad who doesn't know the language and is attempting to fit in with a whole new culture - especially with the football.

How many Brits have went abroad and had such a great first season?

It was a good goal, but it was down to the inexperience of Bartra. He should have fouled him when Bale knocked it past him. He thought about it, but opted in the end for a foot race, one that he had not a hope in * of winning either. Fantastic turn of pace from Bale, but Pinto arguably could have done better, and Bartra made the wrong decision.

He's had a good season but so have Muller, Ribery, Lahm, Toure, Tevez, Diego Costa, Reus, Robben etc even Sanchez from Barcelona. When you compare him to them he's really done no better than any of them.

The really WEIRD thing is... he's Welsh. I think most of England actually think he's ones of them most of the time...

Neymar has a lot of talent, that's clear, but he's over hyped big time. I mean Raheem Sterling is 3 years younger and he's impressed me a lot more than Neymar has at club level this season.

Apart from Tevez all those players you mentioned have been at there current club for a good few seasons so have had plenty of time to settle . Some players can take a season before you see there very best because of a number of different reasons. That said for Neymar's first season he's still played very well. A also reckon a change of manager will help cause this current one is not the right man.

Watched the game with a few mates (2 of them are Sevconians) and I took stick a while back for saying Forster is good enough for Barcelona. Changed opinions it was last night.

Well personally, I think Barcelona require a goalkeeper who is fairly comfortable with their feet. I don't think Forster is their man.

He's a great goalkeeper, no doubt, but I don't think it's a good fit. Btw, why would last nights game change peoples opinions on that subject?

It's because people get annoyed by the hype surrounding british players on SSN and it skews their view of the player. But the thing that gets me is, if a SSN pundit praises us, or one of our players(or former players). We'll buy right into it.

Bale is a fine player, playing at the level he belongs.

No need to get annoyed though. Yeah it is pathetic at times but I can't see myself raging at the TV because of it. It's pretty sad if you ask me when the media hype up players unjustifiably (like Wilshere or someone), but Bale has scored 20 goals and has something like 15 assists in his FIRST year with a massive club and a very heavy price tag on his shoulders. Combine that with the injuries he suffered earlier on when he joined and with no real pre season under his belt - and the results are pretty impressive if you ask me.

Bale is a great player some people on here just love to hate

I agree it's no reason to get annoyed, furthermore, no reason to actually take it out on the player.
