We had mphela up front who is better than some of the strikers at this club.

We also had pletikosa in goal who half this forum had a hard on for at 1 point in time and wanted him signed, we had no more trialists that started the game although lacny came on for a spell in the second half.


CELTIC: Pletikosa, Matthews, Majstorovic, Brown, Du-Ri, Maloney, Mulgrew, Murphy, Forrest, Wanyama, Mphela. SUBS: Samaras, Commons, Cervi, Towell, Twardzik, Lacny.

So we had 8 first teamers and 2 trilaists which imo is not a pad side considering we have 7 of them starting on a regular basis, and maloney left us so he might have been in and out the team.

I class that as a NEAR ENOUGH FULL TEAM

so you think a player who can't get a game for Fulham could walk into our team? give me a break.

debatable that we are at their level but to think their cast-offs could come to Celtic and walk into the team is laughable.

not sure about this one remember him having a good world cup alongside mr potato head but never heard or seen him since not had any game time and is known to be injury prone earlier in his career and then last season and is well down the pecking order at fulham. hmm

 

Don't know too much about him, worth a look i guess.

 

Maybe Fulham would beat us but i still dont think we should sign a reserve player unless he proves himself, I'd rather someone who plays regularly

 

he was immense at the world cup and I watched him at the african cup of nations and he was amazing, if we can sign him and he stays healthy it could be a real coup

Not exactly excited about this but if Lenny signs him up ( and hes only had a look at him there has been nothing offered or signed as yet ) i will give him a chance.

He has played in a world cup and played well so he has to have something about him. Maybe Fulham have run out of patience with his injurys and are prepared to let him go.
A change of scene and possibly a run in a team with 60000 home fans roaring them on might get this player to where he was a couple of years ago.

So we dont know enough to make a judgement until we see him play a few games and in the meantime i will trust Lenny and the scouts.

 

I hate when people say that - it's an arrogant English point of view. How many Championship teams have a team full of internationals? None except for West Ham maybe, but they're really a Premier League side.

When Jos Hooiveld & Glenn Loovens look like top defenders in that league, you know the Championship isn't all that.

 

We would win the championship IMO.

 

I think when someone comes on trial, some people automatically become negative. He isn't in the Fulham signed because of injury, change of manager and the fact Hangeland and Hughes/Baird have forged a good partnership. He is a internationalist that we have the chance of signing on the cheap, with the trial and the trial match Lennon will be able to see if he will improve the side, if yes then I'm happy with his judgement and happy to get a centre back in. I doubt he will not be good enough, if you are signed by Benfica then after world cup tracked by several top european clubs and signed by a highly respect manager in England, I'd imagine you are pretty good. Alot of people on here think if theres no a big fee then he can't be good

 

think you're spot on with this. how many phenomenal players have dropped out of favour at their clubs and moved on to become excellent elsewhere?

 

Hughes good defender,would happily have him at celtic.

 

Think people are getting fed up with us having trialists or bosman defenders instead of actually spending a few quid on decent proven CB.
