Bayern Have a very large left wing element. Think most clubs in Germany Havre a right wing side to them
But to say Bayern have a very large right wing following is bollocks

There is no point labeling clubs either right-wing or left-wing. It depends on what you are identifying as "right" and "left" It really is not that easy. Most neutrals would say Celtic and Rangers are both right-wing yet Celtic fans would never see themselves as right-wing.

Two sides of the same coin I'm afraid. People look at the nationalism and the IRA chants. I hate to break it to you but we are hated by most neutrals in England because of this. I don't personally care that we are hated but we are a very different club to a so called left-wing club like AS Livorno.

The only reason I'm assuming Bayern are right wing is because Munich is in Bavaria and Bavaria if I understand correctly is the most right wing part of Germany .

You really need to * off with this 2 sides of the same coin *,I couldn't give a * about what Engerlund thinks, you only have to look at the support from all around the world that the Green Brigade are getting,to see we are not viewed as right wing or * forbid the same as that now dead parrot that is Rangers :97:

    Let the people sing,
Some of the nonsense in this thread is incredible reading.

People who think the majority of Celtic fans are 'right-wing' (ie. for me that suggests that a significant bulk of them either actively participate in right-wing politics or that they hold even moderate right/Conservative views) are clearly ignorant to any of the fan culture that exists here, and too often appear to be the norm for modern EPL fans who generally have zero interest in football outwith England. If anything i would say many English fans don't like Celtic because there is a large bulk of our support whom are left-wing, and due to many holding sympathies with Ireland's struggle. There is no doubt that England currently has the league most devoid of any significant fan culture, and for this reason i honestly could not care what some of them think. However what i do care about is how those on the continent see us - as they are often the most culturally aware - and they know we are left-wing.

It is true that with the political allegiances tied to clubs fans, as in the opening post, that there will of course be some that break this trend - but those 'labels' represents either the majority of the fans and/or those who are most involved in the football culture scene.

Furthermore, if someone genuinely holds the opinion that Celtic are a right-wing club then their opinion is naive, misinformed and worthless to me whilst they are commenting on football fans' activities politically.

There is a home truth in my opinion that Glasgow unfortunately, (like a lot of big cities) in general, is home to the occasional ignorant idiot who are racist and with the success and size of our club there are bound to be some who will hold these views and also decide to support Celtic; but the numbers of such people are very insignificant to the overall fan base and on the rare occasion i have heard anyone say anything remotely racist at a game they are always challenged and dealt with by other fans to show that this is both not an attitude the club has ever had, nor does this represent the bulk of Celtic Supporters.

To put it simply Celtic is the complete opposite of right wing. We are a very progressive club with great values.

whoever said bayern are right wing need to read up. the bayern fans and some of the team had a punch up with Hitler's Sturmabteilung in the 30s and were vocal opponents of the * regime. Doesnt sound too right wing does it?

I've never met anybody in England that thinks we are right wing. I have met many that don't like Irish Republicanism or Celtic fans singing Irish Republican songs but they wouldn't equate that with being Right wing.

I don't think we are hated by most neutrals down here either. In fact I would think most people are pretty apathetic towards us. They are too caught up in the EPL to give us a second thought most of the time.

The people I have met down here that do tend to hate Celtic are usually fairly right wing themselves and hate us because we are not.
