Mon the Hoops! Let's spank the Spaniards and give ourselves a chance to claim a place in the next stage. :celt_2:

A defeat here, and a victory for Udinese against Rennes would seal our fate.

its essential that we keep it tight in the first ten minutes and then grow into the game.

as long as those in attendance are in full voice it shouldnt matter that its not a sell out; well still be loud enough to knock madrid off their stride.

hopefully we get the three points and still have a great chance of going through by the time we get to udinese. im going over for the game so hopefully it is a fixture which still has some meaning!

I wouldn't I think Lennon will go with that though, I've noticed he has a trend of looking at previous matches in the same kind of competition and thinking more along they lines.

Stokes scored 2 against Rennes and played well on his own away to Rennes. Hooper played up on his own against Sion and got humped.

    Think that'll be his thinking.

    Personally I would have:

    Forster

    Matthews Loovens Maj Mulgrew

    Forrest Wanyama Kayal Ledley

    Stokes Hooper

In their own league poor as has been said but also in their last 5 matches they have had 22 bookings. So hope they don't bring that sort of attitude here and try kicking lumps out of us.

Anyone know who the ref will be for the game and what country is he from?

Going by the players that were available on Saturday(think it'd be too early for Chico) I'd go for:

    1.Forster

    2.Matthews 5.Majstorovic 22.Loovens 16.Ledley

    49.Forrest 33.Kayal(c) 67.Wanyama 9.Samaras

    10.Stokes 88.Hooper

    Subs
    24.Zaluska
    18.Ki
    20.McCourt
    44.Fraser
    46.McGeouch
    14.Bangura
    11.Cha

Celtic 2-1 Atletico Madrid Gary Hooper and Joe Ledley.

Important we keep the momentum going into this pivotal period for the club.

I think we've performed pretty well in this group and surprised a few people.

But for some lunacy in Rennes and a diving wee * from Udinese, we would be sitting pretty by now.

That said, I can't see us winning on Wednesday. I fancy 1-1.

    1 up front - Stokes.

McGeough or George should start as well as Paddy or Commons.

Hmm tricky here, do we be adventurous and try to catch athletico napping or do we go slightly cautious.

    Id set up like this:

    -----------Forster-------------
    Matthews Dan Loovens Ledley
    --Wanyama--kayal--Ki
    ----------Forrest--------------
    -----Stokes-----Hooper------

So a 4-3-1-2, good solid base in midfield with Wanyama and Kayal not giving them any space, Ki to link up well giving forrest the balls to attack athletico and hopefully forrest and Ki providing stokes and hooper with the ammunition to grab some goals.

well, if FM is correct, and it usually is spot on with these sort of things, then u21's dont have to be registered if they have been at the club 3 years already, but u21's who havent been at the club 3 years need to be registered, which is why Rogne is Ineligible

I watched athletico madrid play real on the weekend and tbh for the first 20/30 mins they were the better team i was impressed but the red card changed the game and the were comprehensively beaten. There sitting about mid table in la liga and they're a poor away from home.

I think it will be 2-1 us.
