People keep mentioning the fans have a right to say what the wish because the pay for their season ticket. Fair Enough, but if any person thinks they should say what they like and not expect someone to reply then they are extremely naive.

Indeed if people don`t expect Neil Lennon not to answer back then they must have been watching him blindfolded in previous years.

Some may call it unprofessional and other may not have a problem with it; I am the latter.

This is the definitive part for me - he's not reacting to personal criticism (which he receives by the barrow-load!), he is defending his players - I can understand & support that, even if it unfortunately fuels the media circus. It shows the passion of the man to defend what he believes in.
Storm in a teacup again, sensationalized by the reporting of a minimal event.

How many professinal managers have you watched giving paying fans abuse, Ferg,Morino,etc no none, he is a {xxxxx] hole and idiot and we don't need him, time for us to get someone with savy

Brian Clough has actually SLAPPED fans during his time in charge. Ferguson has done the "up your's" hand gesture to fans before. Mick McCarthy actually calls a section of Wolves fans "mindless idiots" who were calling for him to be sacked. These guys were/are ALL experienced, professional managers that have given their fair share towards paying fans and if you think Lennon is an * and an idiot for defending the players when they actually WON the * match then you need a reality check.

I suppose Lennon was an * and an idiot as well after gesturing towards the orcs back in April by putting his hands behind his ears after they were chanting their usual bile towards him. Or is that ok because it was directed at opposition fans?

I've said before that it's bad enough when opposition fans and the press turn on the team and Lennon for the smallest of things, the last thing they need is some of our own fans moaning especially after they win.

It was a nothing incident. I think for a wee split second Neil forgot he was the manager of Celtic and it was the fan inside of him that made him react. Unfortunately though it's given some 'fans' the opportunity to slaughter him because they dislike him on personal level, for whatever reason.

 

yeah because Lennon is the first manager to ever give fans some much deserved stick.

 

Wonder what the actual punter has to say about this- guess he will be in the same seat today!!! Maybe he will have some flowers and a card for Neil!!!!

Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough have both given supporters stick in their time as managers. Jock Stein, the greatest Celtic manager of them all, also gave the Celtic support stick on more than one occasion when he didn't like what they were shouting/singing.

Neil Lennon is an * and an idiot? Those are disgraceful words to come from the mouth of a Celtic supporter.

 

I remember big jock getting hold of a guy who had run on the pitch,he had him by the scruff of the neck and fired him back into the main stand.
the big man didn't mess about,if a supporter was bringing the name of the club down with bad behavior he would let them know

 

Ok so we have now had people mentioning Clough, Ferguson, Mourinho & now Stein in the breath as Neil Lennon??



No wonder our club is in such a state when our own fans cant see how clueless our managment really is & how disgraceful Neils behaviour was!

 

our management team are learning mate,our manager has had more * to handle than any other manager in any league,so cut him a bit of slack.
he was sticking up for his players,nothing wrong with that.

 

well we should have got a manager in who had already learnt his trade not a rookie.. and theres plenty wrong with what he did,, hence why he apoligised yesterday.. it was a disgrace abusing your own fans like that!
