    I'm not picky.
Maybe if it was Man Utd, Liverpool or maybe even a big team from the country that the friendly was in (like an MLS team if in USA for instance) but not with that lot.

Can't expect to play them a minimum of four times a season with the heat that goes with these games and then expect to play a "friendly" with them.

Plus how would it ever be a friendly anyway with the bile that that lot sing and chant about our manager for one thing? All that sectarian * and then they supposedly come out with an invite for a "friendly"?

    I don't *' think so.

I agree with this. We typically play 5 times a year or so - dont really want to play any more abroad. I also cant see the locals warming to the idea of iniviting all the baggage that goes with the old firm game to their city or town. We seem to be in demand to play other bigger teams around the world so why not just stick with that.

Absolute no chance I want this,we play them enough during the competitive campaign and I don't want them to get any financial boost what so ever.

im from ireland and wouldnt mind seeing celtic play in belfast more often but im not against celtic playing in the USA just dont want them helping the scum in friendlys.i meant we as a club dont need the hassle or money that would come with playing them abroad.

They're trying to make money off our backs.

We don't need them to make money out of friendlies, and it would be strange playing them with nothing at stake.

Not a good idea for Celtic.

Are they CLONES OF SATAN capable of playing us in a friendly ? Without-Diving-Hacking -
Cheating and trying to fiddle the gate money.

We can make more money and give the US Tims a more entertaining game by playing someone like Man U, Liverpool or a MLS select side.
Lets face it the Rankers - Celtic matchs are big because of what is at stake and the atmosphere. Take away both by playing a friendly in a foreign country then you have an average game.
That is reason enough not to play, but then you take into account that it will give the manky mob a few dollers towards helping them survive and it becomes a defiant no!

I cringe for the Rangers big wig that suggested it also.

Millions of overseas Hoops fans would love this. I lived in Australia for 4 years, I missed the hoops bad. I would have * loved an Old Firm friendly out there. Would have been amazing.

Another upshot of this would be them seeing our power abroad. It would be too funny. As our brand and philosophy would see our support grow and Ranjurz brand and 'we hate everyone' philosophy, would be shunned.

I think the clubs would have to agree to a lot including the policing costs of holding the game in any city. I dont think would be too big an issue if it was in say Australia as noone is going to travel all the way to Australia to cause bother and Id imagine Aussie fans are more likely to behave themselves. But if it was in Europe I think it potentially could be carnage. I dont see why we dont stick to playing bigger and better clubs than rangers abroad. Seeing as we generally do ok at filling stadiums pre season there surely cant be that much extra money involved.

we tried to get them to play us at fenway 2 years ago but they backed out because the boston globe reported about their fans fine behavior in manchester, I for one think its a bad idea because all it takes is one idiot kid who has come to support rangers because of edu and bedoya, making one * comment to a couple of glasgow bhoys over for the match and after he has gotten the * kicked out of him the press here will go crazy not only at the old firm but football in the US in general

What they really mean is that there are not enough Protestants or Rangers supporters in Boston. Or anywhere else in the States really.

The Irish connection in America ensures that we will always be more loved and welcomed over there than them. And then when you take into consideration the behaviour of our fans when we travel compared to theirs, they have no chance.

Tell them to get to *.

There was talk in the Boston media about their fans' behavioural problems and then rangers said they wouldn't do it after such an insult/attack on their club.:56:

was it not the case that the rankers were told that they were not to come by bostons finest rather than the huns being insulted and spitting out the dummy?

Don't know mate, I'm sure I read an article that said their fans' reputation was less than desirable and the huns were offended by such a statement

I'm torn. As an American fan, I'd love to see an Old Firm game in person, in the States.

But I'm also partial to the argument that we shouldn't be helping them fill their coffers or expand their brand in the US. I've met lots of Celtic fans here, no Rangers fans.
