strachan will sign another striker

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by sing tim, Mar 29, 2007.

  1. celtic have already identified a new top stiker as their priority signing so
i dont think the signing of macdonald is anything to worry about because hes not it. he's being signed as a backup striker because he's cheap and scores goals. guys like magic n miller arent playing well and demand much higher wages so its actually good business.

we're being linked with guys like bellars and keane which probably wont happen but hopefully ew can get someone near that quality. david healy anyone?

  2. David Healy is a player whos stock is rising, that's for sure. Every time he plays he seeems to score at the moment. But being a good player in the EPL these days magically makes you worth megabucks. The better Healy plays the more we may want him, the more he'd cost and the more other EPL sides will want him therefore reducing our chances.

Wouldn't mind us getting Bellamy or Keane though their wage demands could be stumbling block.

  3. david healy only plays well in international game it suits him he soesnt play well for leeds and isnt gettin on alot for them cus he's playin crap!

  4. Ah! Didnae know who he played for at club level. Thought it was Reading, but that's Kevin Doyle of ROI I'm thinking of.

I was going by his NI stike rate. Oh well.:87:

  5. And could you imagine the NI faithful if Healy signed for us? Couple of death threats in the post and no mistake.

  6. Iv heard that wgs is looking at a few options up front and im sure he will sign a quality striker McDonald will be back up along with Beattie ''who i think should be sold'' dont worry about it bhoys we will blow the huns out the water again next season..... hail hail

  7. yes new strikers are needed. healy will be a good signing for the bhoys. he just scored twice against Sweden! :50:

  8. I said this along time ago, we need strikers, based primarily that DEFENSE starts at the front.
    Watch Rangers go for Healy!

  9. We need a really good striker without a doubt, depends how much cash wgs has to spend .

  10. There is going to be a clear out at the end of the season. McDonald has been signed so we can let go of either but probably both of Miller and Magic. Their wages will much higher than McDonald's. Then we shall sign another big name striker to partner VoH up front.

  11. We should try and go for Nugent. Scored for England last night but i can see EPL teams buying him. I rate Ricardo Vaz Te quite highly and also Mido at Spurs cos he's got Dimitar Berbatov, Jeramine Defoe and Robbie Keane above him in the pecking order

  12. rangers r meant 2 be in for healy, a dont rate him tht much.

  13. Healy's pish. 8 goals all season for Leeds. He's inconsistent, lacks pace, isn't a consitent finisher and has little experience. Leave him alone I'd say.

  14. dont want healy i expect us to splash oot on a better striker worth between 4-6m.

  15. the gers are apparently looking at healy which just shows u how "quality" he is:84: . dont think keane will happen, hes another overpriced player. btw if bellers comes to celtic i will get his name tatooed on my *:84:

  16. not for me i want a top striker and a back up . Healy cld of been bak up but we have mcdonald to do tht now dont need healy

I want a top class striker from a top class club (read: Makaay)

  17. Wouldnt say no to him bellers or keane but the fact is to really become a mighty force once again the SPL has to become more atrractive

  18. mackaay wood be great but i think he is too similar to jvoh, we need a bellamy or keane to work like kenny miller but add the goals too

  19. Yes! Something close to Henrik if possible, tall order though? :84:
