Could you go to Ibrokes dressed as the Pope if this bill comes into play or woulld you not be allowed in? ive seen plenty of people dressed as the pope there over the years to poke fun at the anti-catholic huns but its not clear if that would be legal now.

The SNP are stupid for actually thinking they can change things with this.

Thing is, these are things we can get arrested for. Lose jobs over, our livelyhood.

And we don't have one iota of a clue what the * songs will get us there or not.

There leaving it a mystery. It's like the shittiest game of Russian roulette ever.

Why would people even bother going to the football anymore? Why risk losing your livelihood, your job, perhaps your wife and everythign you've worked hard for in life because you called someone a hun?

    * - no

    Catholic - yes

    Black/Aisian/Muslim/English - yes

    Orange - no.

I actually don't care about some of the songs the shame sing, I don't like them but I respect their right to sing them. Sash, Derrys Walls, Rule Brittania, GSTQ.

none of those songs are wanting to wade in my blood, or call me a paedo, or get rid of Catholics.

And I take "* *" as a compliment, because I am, an Unrepentant one :celt_2:

I think the bill is pretty clear

    OUT

songs of hate of a person or group based on difference of religion, race, identity etc

songs referring to violent groups or past events or suggesting future violence or glorifying it

Anything that is an actual threat

    IN
    Allfootball/fun songs
    National anthems
    expressions of faith
cultural or historic songs without references to violent phases or groups

I think that gives a clear indication. I could almost make a call on every controversial song in the OF repetoir based on that bill and rarely be in doubt. There are only a few borderline cases.

As regards your point about "hun" earlier I actually agree. But surely calling everyone associated with Rangers "orange" is no different from them calling everyone associated with celtic "fenians". Neither are strictly sectarian, but a lot of celtic fans seem offended by one and they are ususally the types to use the other the most...

And surely you have an idea of what is offensive and what isnt?

It would be a sad state of affairs if you were to end up in jail with your life * if you were done for calling some a * * or an orange * at the football.

Of course I know what's offensive. I've no idea what getting locked up offensive is.

So then no Aiden McAnespie, No Fields of Athenry, is Soldier Song offensive? It's about rebellion but it's a national anthem.

I don't even use orange * unless I'm at the game.

But the football does something to you when you are there, especially against the hun, and to expect people to to consider their actions when you are one down and they are singing about Jock Stein is a * joke and will lead to many law abiding citizens having a criminal record and maybe losing their livelyhood.

How anyone can support this is beyond me.

I dont know to be honest. It is a tricky one. You cannot allow people to sing what they want when they are clearly doing it to offend others, especially when it is connected to race and religion. Calling someone a * or orange isnt the end of the world. In the same way calling someone coloured instead of black or black instead of african, or whatever the latest acceptable term is. But you cannot justify going to a game of football and singing about other peoples faith or race. Similarly I do not think you can justify singing songs about terrorist organisations, warfare, and violence in this day and age. I have issues with this bill, but people talk about it as if it is a clampdown on all singing. Of course it isnt. People know fine well when they are singing contentious songs and when they arent

Is "Oh the Rangers are *" banned then? as technically it is a song of hate about another groups identity by me being a Celtic fan singing it about Rangers and saying they are *.

Is who ate all the pies banned to? Again its about another persons identity and is a song of hate id be singing towards them.

    etc etc

National anthems have been excluded from the bill funnily enough.

Could that be because the SNP's and my own Anthem would have to be outlawed?

Every way you look at this bill it is a direct attack on Celtic supporters.

    Just seen this :56:

So.... can't sing stand up if you hate Rangers?

    Great man.

We should just sing Celtic clap clap clap Celtic clap clap clap.

Sing * kombaya and hope for a draw incase the other fans get offended by us celebrating.
