Giants again buck the odds and hammer the Tigers in Game 1. Verlander only lasted 4 innings.

Hoping that the Tigers can win on Saturday, but the way that the Giants are playing as well as having luck on their side, it will be hard for the Tigers to come back.

Well done to them to be honest. They completely dominated us and the Tigers, and the Tigers proved that they weren't just filling in the numbers when they battered the Yankees 3-0 in their playoff series either.

A team that only gives away 7 runs and scores 40 in a 7 game streak deserves to win it.

I like the Giants, I was glad to see them winning it.

Trading Marco Scutaro doesn't look like quite such a smart move by the Red Sox now. We seem to have a habit of trading away good SS's. Orlando Cabrera was brilliant for us in 2004 then we traded him away. We traded away Edgar Renteria and he went on to be the MVP in the WS for the Giants. Now we've traded away Scutaro and he had an excellent post season for the Giants as well. Meanwhile the SS position continues to be a problem in Boston.

    Go figure.

Big Papi resigns with Boston for 2 years $26m. Not a bad deal, believe there are incentives that could bring it up to $30m.

Despite a bad overall season, big papi still had decent numbers.

All they need to do now is sign Melky Cabrera from free agency and it'll be like the auld days with him and Manny again.

No luck for Boston. However very well done to the San Fran Giants. Always liked them.

Despite being a Roider I think he's played much better this season than he actually is. He will drop back to his usual career numbers. Besides, I heard from different sources he was a clubhouse cancer once it doesn't go his way.

Cabrera or Papi? Don't know if Papi will be as hungry now with his 2 years sorted and nothing to prove.
Do you think they will trade Ellsbury? I know it makes sense but it would be a shame to see the best homegrown talent since Nomar leave.

I meant Melky mate. They will clean out the house and get in a lot of new faces.

Red Sox sign Mike Napoli! Not a bad deal, only 3 years, not the 4 he wanted.

Dan Haren signed for the Nationals, they are going to have the best staff in baseball, if they didn't already, I just hope they don sit Strasburg at the end of the season again

The Red Sox have signed Shane Victorino to play RF. He's got gold glove calibre but I'm not sure how much he's going to add with the bat. At least this takes us out of the running for Josh Hamilton, I really didn't want to see the Red Sox blowing a fortune on him.

I don't think the braves are going to be back in it for at least a few years :56:, you have a great farm system though so you are in a better position than the mets, phillies or marlins
