I don't agree he will be a bit part player in Europe. If you look at his performance in the Real Madrid friendly - the game he was injured in - this dispels that notion.

If you consider that for 'flair players' we have limited options, effectively just Commons, Forrest and Dylan, i think he could be called upon as a 'flair' midfielder for some European games should we have something to play for after Moscow.

Dispels what notion? I never mentioned his ability I said he will be a bit part player. That is a fact, he is a bit part player in the SPL never mind Europe that doesn't mean I don't rate him or his potential.

I completely disagree that labelling Dylan a 'bit part player' is in any way accurate for a young, exciting up-and-coming youth prospect on the verge of a run in the first team. A 'Bit part' player would be one who is used sparingly due to age or injury, he doesn't fall into that category to me, does he to you? He got a very, very unfortunate injury in a friendly game, and i personally believe our season in SPL could have started in more rosy fashion had we quality like Dylan to call upon.

Remember his goal of the season last year? This boy has the lot in his locker. In the glimpses I have saw him, he's got all the ability to 'do a McGeady' (by that i don't mean * off to Spartak for 8 million; i mean cement himself as an important flair midfielder).

But if you respectfully disagree, I respectfully disagree also.

He will be lucky to get a sub appearance in Europe this season. Right now he just needs to focus on getting games in the split and finding a consistent level next season will be a big year for him with hopefully either a few starts or sub appearances in Europe and playing regularly in the league

I'm not arguing so there is no disagreement. Our definition of a 'bit part player' is clearly miles apart.

McGeouch is not a regular, nor a regular substitute. Yet. Ergo he is a 'bit part player' i.e. he doesn't get a lot of opportunities to play.

That is a fact, not a derogatory statement. His ability and his potential, both of which I have been extremely vocal of, have nothing to do with that.

...by this logic James Forrest was this also? If so and he goes the way of James, cool.

Yes. He was. As is every player who isn't a regular starter.

I think Dylan will be a key player in some of our European games myself, I thought last night's game with Benfica was crying out for someone of McGeouch's direct running at defences and ball wizardry and trickery.

He would struggle to get into the squad for a champions league game. Be lucky if he starts an spl game any time soon so how you think he would make a difference is quite baffling?? He has shown he has a bit of promise but until he gets a regular run out even as a sub(which he hasnt done regularly at all yet) we wont know if he will be the player everyone seems to think he is already.

If he plays like he did against Real Madrid, and adds some end product then we're laughing.

Him on the right and Sammy on the left, with Forrest to come off the bench and prove a point .......... :50:

Real Madrid was a friendly and its not like he had an amazing game. Everbody seems to think he is some sort of world beater but he is nowhere near our starting team at the minute.

Struggling to see how he can be the difference for us in European games. No doubt has a lot of potential and will be a great player for us, I just don't see him getting much of a chance for us in European games. Hope i'm proved wrong.

Did you watch the Madrid match? He had a brilliant game.

And if Watt and Twardzik can get starts in the SPL then Dylan will as well.

Wins the ball by himself and runs the length of the pitch. The bhoy is going to be a star.

He will get the odd start but he wont get a sustained run in the team and neither will those 2.

Yes i did watch that friendly. Maybe you can tell me what he done that was so magical in a friendly match then??

I think it will definitely be his breakthrough year but I seriously doubt he will have much to do in the European games yet. Hope to see a lot of him in the next few weeks though

Not sure how anyone can be so certain he will or won't get a few games in. If Lenny thinks he is good enough and ready he will get game time be that CL or SPL.

Personally I think we will see a lot more of him this season. Only time will tell.

Exactly my point. What did he actually do in that whole clip?? Did he rip them apart?? Did he set up 5 or 6 chances ?? Did he make any opportunities for himself?? The answer to all the above questions is no. So this great game he had in a friendly he has actually done nothing which thankfully you have proved in 3 minute clip. Did you even watch that montage before you put it up?? Is there a part 2 where he has actually done something decent??

    Wow, just... Wow. *facepalm*

So a young guy is playing a position that isn't his preferred position looks head and shoulders above arguably the second best team on the planet and you think he didn't have a good game?

Confident, assured, skillful, doesn't waste a pass, getting back making tackles on his own 18 yard box, leaving Madrid players on their * isn't having a good game because he never beat 12 of them and stuck it in the top corner...?

    you're * at it.
