I think Samaras is incapable of linking up with a strike partner, unless it is a target man like JVoH.

He couldn't link with McDonald either.

because he doesnt know when to release the ball , and runs into trouble , his control is terrible as well , that might be down to the fact he has like size 14 feet.

You forgetting about this? Some of the best linkup play I've ever seen!

He won the knock on, he is capable of that.

However in general he doesn't know when to release the ball to his strike partner or spot his run or when to leave it to him and run the channels, how to make space for his partner.

Which is extremly infuriating because this is stuff he does very well when linking up with the midfield or spotting passes from deeper on the pitch.

    Some coomets make me :87:...

Bottom line is we have bought a lad in who has been recommended to us by an old legend of the club... We don't buy him on Henke's say so alone. He comes here , he works hard in training and we see what happens. If he's worth a start, he's worth a start.

Ref all the 'hype', I don't see any harm in people getting excited about wanting to see a new player... :50:

Oh, and I hate this 'stooper' business, what is this, Hello magazine? No thanks... And anyway, if the lad scores a couple fo hatricks in his first few games, will all the 'stooper' fans who don't want to split them two up be against it then... :bbpd:

That was Jan Vennegor of Hesselink and Scott McDonald, not Samaras and Scott McDonald.

I can understand not breaking up Stooper, but...

Lets say Bangura plays this weekend and looks amazing and scores a couple? What if we put him on the bench, we're not winning and he comes on, plays a blinder and scores the winner? What will be the consensus then?

Also, he's 22 and been a first team regular for a few years now. When do players become 'ready' these days?

Sorry for all the hypotheticals there, but I really want to see him in action. See what he's all about. I would like him to start this weekend.

Hope he hits the ground running for us. We are needing a wee lift at the club. Been a bit of a downer the last few weeks.

If he starts well and puts the ball in the net, the fans will go mad for him.

    Walk On
Based on stats and form it will be Bangura and Stokes :icon_mrgreen:, Anyway in some games i would like a more attacking formation like the following
    GK Forster
    RB Matthews/Wilson
    CD Wilson
    CB Mulgrew
    LB Izzy/Kaddouri(spelling?)
    LCM Kayal
    RCM Ki
    RAM Bangura
    LAM Commons
    RS Hooper
    LS Stokes

this could easily be changed by changing Bangura/Stokes/Hooper for either Brown or Forrest and going for 4-4-2 :celt_2:

hope to see him against Motherwell at some point. don't think he should start as Hooper and Stokes don't deserve to be broken up. hope he comes on and impresses.

We need him on the field for penalties at very least!

Incidentally this article says his nickname is 'Poboski'

Is he, or is he not, the bee's knees. That is the question.
