Peter Lawell 'IRA chants are embarrassing'

I know there has been a lot of threads closed because of this discussion but perhaps now it's in the papers it's ok to post???

I agree with him

 

So is our defence

 

hes embarrassing the * and the agm shows this better we get him out of the club the better

 

losing the league three times in a row against the huns is even more embarrassing.

Our players, manager and board members are pretty good when it comes to talking - if they put the same effort in what they are supposed to do we would be celebrating 6-7 in a row.

 

I agree with him.

But it's also embarrassing how well he is rewarded for continual failure; I find that more embarrassing

PIRA chanting = unacceptable and should be stamped out.

1916 IRA chanting = nothing illegal or sectarian about it. Acceptable.

 

Pretty much sums it up.

 

When you consider the fact that the 'IRA' chants heard at Celtic's matches are in support of the Old IRA, then Lawwell nor anyone else really has a case. They died fighting for Ireland and Celtic are a club with strong Irish roots and many Celtic supporters have descendants who were Irish, some of them who may even have died fighting in the Old IRA.

It makes sense that we would want to glorify them in song.

 

This is the SFA/SPL fee, for Lawell getting on the new SFA/SPL committee/board.

Now that he's come down on the IRA chanting, keeping his part of the bargain - lets see what Regan & his cronies do as their part of the bargain.

 

I've heard that the direct quote from Lawell was 'Provisional' songs need cut out...

 

Perfect response. Do your * job Lawwell and get us a decent defender!

 

He should keep his mouth shut about the fans, and start doing his job to put a decent team on the field. You couldn't make it up!
