Ridiculous. WE DO NOT SING SECTARIAN SONGS. The police are just pandering to the huns who are desparate for a brush to tar us with because they know that they can't justify the sectarian bile that THEY sing.
    WE WILL NOT BE CRIMINALISED!

Calm down, Dear. Whether you accept it or not singing songs that are deemed offensive to some is not on, in my opinion.

Not anymore, if people continue to do it we'll be on the receiving end of hefty sanctions.

if this is true and celtic fans are investigated for singing rebel songs, then i just hope that the next scotland international at hampden is under the same scrutiny and that the scotland support is condemned for their rebel and political songs.

however, i hope this results in justice and a sensible understanding is found, and that people will realise there is no crime or indeed problem with political expression at games.

Will be watching this outcome with interest. I think the club will get punished but i dont think they have teh balls to stand up for us on this one even thou they kno wwere right. They will prob lose alot of sponserships if they came out and said that most of teh songs arent sectarian

I doubt anyone on here is that involved with it. I would bet the majority of folk singing IRA songs are just doing it because they think it's what's cool.

Couple of bangers on my bus yesterday were playing Pro-IRA tunes on their * mobile.

Know what? People like you who make assumptions and shoot people down, claiming they no * all or only do it cos its 'cool' really bug me. Im studying history and politics at uni and have studied Irish History, done essays on the subject and researched it. But i only express my views cos its cool to do so! Get a grip.

Does that mean you're allowed to sing it in football stadiums when you could be offending people?

at no point did I say I personally sung them at games, I merely defended the right to do so.

Until the issue is addressed with greater clarity and also in wider society, these instances will continue to happen.

To define football as a seperate event from Orange Marches and Republican Marches is a false perception which the Scottish Government are trying to pursue.

A little * for tat here but the Hearts fans who sang "Glasgow Celtic Paedophilie", should also be under-investigation. Again this highlights the need for clarity, what makes one acceptable and one not worthy of investigation.

Point taken. But, you're the minority IMO. You might know what's what but I doubt the people singing this (and there's literally thousands singing it) know the history and the ramifications of it all.

    Your essays?

The Farts fans are almost untouchable as they have their * Edinburgh dodgy juries to look after them.

We won't be getting fined as a club anytime soon.

Thats not true at all, we were a lot more vocal in terms of such songs the last time we played at Tynecastle. In fact Sunday doesn't really compare with our last 3 visits to Tynecastle. At least.

Lothian and Borders are going to be extremely busy if they are claiming that everyone singing is going to be "brought to justice" as nearly everyone to a man was belting them out!

Haha! How? I'm genuinely intrigued on reading a critical essay on a subject that I'm subjected to hearing about almost daily. If the guy says he's done proper research and digging then I'm willing to bet I'm no the only one that would like to read it.

    Away you go.
