Dont even start, sure we've been disappointed with jj this season, but i think so many people go way over the top. Tonight he was immense, he made suberb tackles and quick passes. Sure he was not attacking constantly but who was. He was just what we needed, someone who made strong defensive tackles and kept it tight in midfield which was crucial for the first half, how many times have we conceded goals in the first half in europe(away), everytime! Thats why i felt it was crucial play tight which he did.

IMO he did a lot more than sno naka and even lenny. To many times people throw the blame on the jj and grav but never dare to blame lenny.

I am gutted we are out but very proud of the players and the manager. Although we got beat tonight I think we made a lot of progress out there over both legs of this tie. I really feel the players and manager will have learned so much from this years champions league campaign and I think we really have a very solid platform to move forward with.
There is clearly more work to be done with our team building but we have come a long way and as hard as it is to come so close tonight to making the Quarter-finals I think the players and team will have taken a lot of belief and confidence from this tie.

Proud?? You better * beleive it our team gave its all last night and unfortunatley we just fell that bit short.
As for strachan his tactics were spot on (hence us being in it right up to the final whistle of et) our defence was outstanding and what about boruc? what can you say about him? sheer class
our midfield was ok but wee sno gave the ball away too much including the lead up to thier goal but he is only 19 so maybe graveson should have been on from the start as his experience is invaluable.
naka was * as they had to men on him at all times makin him work doubly hard and i think big jan should have got an hour then took off as he was clearly * and im not sure if beattie was the right choice
oh and wee mcgeady was good but not brilliant but if he learned to play the easy ball or even just to pass the thing to anyone (in green and white) he would be brilliant . He is probably one of those wee guys when you where younger playing fitba and he said "its my ball your not playin" cos everyone was moanin at him to pass the * ball!!!! Yes the boy has skill and class but he has to learn the basics like passin the ball to a team mate!!!

The efforts of players and manager alike were great last night.

BUT it was yet another story of heroic failure. WGS got the tactics spot on last night but surely he must now be looking back and admitting to himself that he chose the wrong team in the first leg.

AC Milan were there for the taking but we showed them too much respect in the home game and played it too cautious.

So well done bhoys but heroic failure is still failure.

Bit harsh but it true McGeady is nowhere near the finished article. His dribbling skills need to be match by a huge improveent in pace, upper body strength, shooting, passing, crossing, vision, deadballs etc to at least Shaun standard. If he doesnt he could end up another Joe Miller type player-good dribbler but limited overall. Its only now he has gone that I really realise the massive loss with Shaun. Last season it was like having a Naka on both wings. OK will stop crying over spilt milk now.

McGeady gets found out at that level. He has to add more to his game as at the moment a good defender knows that he will only try to dribble past him and can crowd him out.

Our creative players were poor last night. JVoH is our only really dangerous player if you take away Naka's dead ball skills. We obviously need another quality striker and another side midfielder.

Noone can be faulted for their commitment last night but the way some are calling them heroes is embarrassing. Heroes win things.

I was too gutted to post last night, but on reflection, here are my thoughts.
A tremendous effort by Celtic last night, I'm gutted we lost, but we can be proud of our performance and take a lot of positives.
Our defence was magnificent last night, Boruc, Telfer, McManus, O'Dea and Naylor were all superb, Naylor's intervention on Inzaghi denied Milan a certain goal, Telfer too made some vital tackles, O'Dea was superb for a young rookie defender, and McManus has polished off some of his rough edges this season to become an inspirational no nonesense centre half.
Midfield last night was a slight problem, I though Sno was good, but his inexperience showed, again no disgrace against one of the best teams in the world, Lennon has been a legend during his time at CP, but I feel last night proved he doesn't have the legs for these games, often caught well out of position, unable to track back at times, and a poor lazy effort at a tackle against Kaka that led to the goal.( I was also * off at him for standing yards away from Kaka and letting him cross the ball that came back off the bar, although it was offside, I felt Lenny was guilty of not closing his men down at times last night.
I feel Jarosik has been given a tough time by some Celtic fans, I personally feel he has contributed quite a lot to the team this season, often out of position, his physical pressence, deft touches and passing ability were all on display last night, and he made several defensive tackles to set Celtic up on the attack, in fact I would have preferred Strachan to take off Lennon instead of JJ. McGeady and Naka fed off scraps last night, a tough game for both, but like the rest of the team they will learn a lot from this game.
Big Jan tried his best, but with very little support or creativity from the midfield it was always going to be a tough task for him.
As for the subs, Tommy G will get better, I feel him and JJ will be much improved players next season, Beattie tried his best, but again at this level, his touch lets him down and he needs to learn a bit more composure, Miller ran around like a headless chicken in the short time he was given, I won't be too sad if he moves on in the summer, although he works hard we need a better class of player for this level.
Our main problem is that we don't possess a potential match winner on our bench, Riordan is still learning, but we have never really replaced Lubo, a man who could come on for the last 20 -30 mins of a game and totally change it.
Hopefully after the summer we'll be more equiped, Strachan was quick to point out that he knows what we need in order to progress at this level, plus we'll have both Hartley and Pressley available next season, as well as big John Kennedy back.
The future is looking very good for Celtic, and under Strachan's management, I can see the team and the club going fron strength to strength.

Personally I'm sick to death of heroic failure. You can't fault the effort but results over the years prove we're just not good enough.

When Milan can stick an 18m player on the bench what can you do? Players that can dominate SPL games like McGeady and Naka are found out at a higher level. We learnt last night that our defence is good but we still lack going forward.

mcgeady was pish, thats a joke, i thought he was one of our best players, he ran at players and gave us an outlet when we needed it. He gave absolutely everything he had and won a few free kicks on the edge of the box. He has been poor in the big games in the past but last night he was not pish in slightest

The villain of the piece in my opinion was Lennon

He let Kaka get away easily for the goal, and he was a complete
liability in the middle of the park.

I wish Strachan had the guts to drop Lennon, or is Lennon
sooking up his * every day in training

Either way, we are a much better and quicker team when Lennon
    is not playing.

There are too many Lennon Shaggers about here, that don't want
to admit, he is past it

Welcome to the world of swiss people. especially in football and icehockey.

the lads gave their best last night, only fools blame specific players for this defeat. I'm proud of the lads, they never gave up and fought like lions!

realistically milan are just the better side, the quality won this battle. kaka, one stroke of genius and we were 0-1 down. they got the better players, the better team overall.

experience and improvements of the current squad will decrease the gap a bit, but it'd take ages to be able to compete with the likes of milan, inter etc
