He has been a mixed bag. Certainly not a keeper who is worth heaps of points a season like Artur. Hopefully we can get Gordon in in the next window.

Point is that when people say they want Boruc back it isn't just for his ability, because if we're being brutally honest towards the end he wasn't as good as he had been. But I've watched him play for Fiorentina and he's better, but still not the same keeper he was.
No denying he was a legend and that at the top of his game the best keeper we've ever had.

I don't get on his back for no reason but speaking as a goalkeeper, Forster has a lot of weaknesses, he may make the odd save but this is countered by his mistakes, the cup final against Rangers being a case in point. People say he is one for the future, Celtic don't have the luxury of waiting for him to get better, we need a top keeper not an occasionally good one.

Is Gordon fit again now? I remember reading somewhere during the summer window that he was due back around September/October time.

It'd be great if he fully recovered and then came up here to join us for the second half of the title race, as I frankly don't think we can rely solely on Forster and Zaluska will probably find a new club in January, if Gordon does indeed arrive.

I think if he continues getting as many clean sheets as he does at the moment then yes we can afford to wait. We waited 12 years for a decent keeper last year, from when Packie left to Boruc arriving.

The goal in the cup final with the Huns I wouldn't blame on Forster, it's just one of they goals which happened and Davis should have been stopped before then.

There is a reason that he gets as many clean sheets as he doesn behind a terrible defence. He is a good keeper who is constantly improving. I think he gets critcism because he is not an Artur Boruc and he immediately follows Boruc. If you offered me Rab Douglas, Johnny Gould, Magnus Hedman or Fraser Forster I know who I would be choosing every time, it's Forster hands down.

Right now he is a decent keeper, certainly good enough to keep getting clean sheets anyway and he will keep improving.

I'm happy we have him here.

I think that people are too hung up on clean sheets. If we won every match 2-1, perhaps people would have a more balanced view on Forster.

That is an insane thing to say really, clean sheets are goalkeepers trade. It's like saying people would have a different opinion of Henrik Larsson if he didn't score as many goals.

Anyone who thinks that the stats for the defense for last season are not misleading is blind. The MF was strong defensively last year but the defense was *.

It's not insane, ask any keeper, it's different from being a striker. You can literally have nothing to do as a keeper and still keep a clean sheet if your team mates keep the ball away from you. Think about it.

It is, you are saying people would have a different opinion if he conceded more goals.

Do you think our defence was strong last year? Strong enough for Fraser Forster to have * all to do?

    What about yesterday?

No, the defence is poor but the general point stands and FF did make one important save yesterday but they could easily have scored. He dives like a sumo wrestler and will be punished by better opposition.

The fact that he saved that means that they didn't score and this has happened over and over in the course of the last year where he has played behind a very shoddy defence.

Forster isn't the problem with our defence, a couple of solid defenders infront of him we could have one of the best back lines we have had in a very, very long time.

Not the biggest problem, no. Lennon really needs to drop Dan soon, he's really dodgy. I don't think Loovens is as bad as people make out but he's not great either.

Loovens was * awful yesterday. The amount of times he miskicked the ball was shocking for a profesional footballer, never mind the balls that kept getting dropped in behind him and Big Dan.

I think for us to get the amount of cleansheets that we do, with that defence there then Fraser Forster deserves a massive amount of credit for that.

forsters a * bag wont command his area, drops balls, also there are times when someone scores against us i think he could have dived and saved them tbh. a decent shot stopper but * we need a waaay better keeper along with a waaay better centre halves. we are pathetic just now.

I used to think we could get away with having a decent keeper in the spl.but either he isn't even decent or I am totally wrong

Absolutely stunned that you really believe that.

    Agree with this.

    Not going to happen.

Forster certainly has areas of his game he needs to work on (coming out for crosses and catching them as an example) but he has good attributes too. He is a good shot stopper and has good reflexes. Not to forget he had a fantastic clean sheet record last season.

Gunt in particular uses a certain train of thought to defend Scott Brown by saying that people in the football world seem to see something that the fans don't and that's why he's rated highly. You could use the same logic to defend Forster as he was Lennon's main transfer target over the summer and Padrew was very reluctant to let him go.

think pardew just wanted a load of cash and when he had no takers he gave him back to us on loan. Pardew was the one slating the standard of the game up here saying forster wasnt learning, well he didnt learn much between going back to them and returning here on loan.
