    Ok, be gentle! :52:

    Think about it though -

    Height
    Strength
    Good in the air
Great distribution from defence = great lay-offs?
    Wonderful left-peg
Would compliment a right footed strike partner

He doesn't need to be speedy - Sutton wasn't (similar build I suppose). Just intelligent about his positioning.

Be open minded guys. Hows about we use a cup game to experiment?

Did Sutton not start his career as a defender? [IMG]

Only one fly in tthe ointment. Our main problem is central defence, and he's our best CB. :56:

When Lenny sees this is the way forward and Charlie finishes the season with 15 goals, you come back and see me! :56:

for me, too slow. His feet aren't fast enough. I've never seen him score from open play either, only set pieces.

Thats because he plays in defence, how many defenders do you see scoring from open play? hardly any. Only Dani Alves that I can think of scores 3/4 a season from getting forward and hitting a shot.

he is far far too slow if he had just average pace i would say give it a go but honestly couldn't out run any player...

Haha, the devil is in the detail!:50: Seriously tho, if he could master the 'Sutton-role', then he wouldn't need quick feet; just quickness of mind.....not that that's not a big ask of course!

Mm saw the title and thought shut up, but actually you might be onto something here, Rocket shot, tall. Should try it in training Lenny, but then we'd need a new Cb....but there cheaper than Strikers.

He would probably do a good job lol but we really need him in defence, that's the area we're having problems ...........

:50: He has to play as a CB, since others are not good. Bar Rogne.

Av heard it all now, infact why dont we throw mjallby up front while were at it, he seems to have most of the attributes.

What a mince post, anno we wanted a target man but throwing a left back/centre back up front to partner hooper or stokes is not the answer and if lenny made a ludicrous move like that he would be anilated and drove out of glasgow.
