probably threads on this hidden away somewhere but im not going to lie, im simply too lazy to look.

anyway, ive only ever been to two celtic games and they were Swansea and Cardiff this preseason just gone. so i want to come to Paradise. simple.

I have a Liverpool supporting mate whom is however receptive to the idea of Celtic, its history, its raison d'etre, its fans, its way of life. a perfect travelmate whom has already been persuaded that a trip to Glasgow is in order. and he owes me after I went to the Manchester United/Liverpool January FA Cup game at OT this year (ridiculous amounts of munich/hillsborough chants the viciousness took me by surprise, but thats another thread) so he's defo on board.

1st hurdle is geting there, it would be like 7hrs driving and about £200 petrol so thats out. FlyBe fly from Cardiff to Glasgow for around £75 so travel is sorted. Hotels...simple, talking £50. sorted.

final step...the match. it would be a waste of time to fly up just to tour an empty stadium tbh regardless of how awe inspiring Celtic Park may be and would be a missed opportunity as i prob wont be going back to Glasgow for years...so am thinkin what are the chances of just picking a date and match and just flying to Glasgow that weekend hoping to get a ticket? obviously Rangers would be a nonstarter but any other games? or should i somehow get a ticket first then (how??) then make the plans?

any hints from exiled fans whom regularly do these one-off trips (i have absolutly no contacts by the way so saying "CSC get you a ticket" doesnt help).

    cheers.

You could try the Swansea supporters club, they'd be able to sort you out tickets I'm sure. There used to be a website for them but not sure if its still about.

the Swansea Bhoyos (badge is my avater) seems inactive, i actually used to work with a guy who was a member and a massive celtic fan but they dont seem to travel etc anymore. how do they get tickets then? club just give to them? isnt there a way of independently getting tickets, although from what i gather on here there isnt a huge demand atmoment for differing reasons so tickets may be available on general sale?

as for the rangers game in december, the night game (what a nuts idea mind, a match like that in the night, the cardiff/swansea one was vicious in 2008 in the cup and the villa/blues , millwall/west ham night games recently went off big style so why have the league scheduled a night old firm, cant be good), if a ticket is available for that i will give anything to go. i dream of an old firm game but consider it perhaops unrealistic as demand surely has to be sky high

If U want to get a ticket for one of these games, just have a look at the celtic site and I'm sure there will be a general sale for those games. Get yourself logged in for 'tickets online' and keep an eye on when the ticket go on general sale, pick out your tickets, pay and job done.
I could even get tickets for CL crackers against AC Milan etc ...so should be no problem.
Good luck mate and ....ENJOY !!

If you know a season book holder then you'll get a hun ticket no bother, season book holders get the chance to buy extra tickets

    unfortunatly i dont :-(

so people reckon the best bet is just to wait say 2weeks prior to the game to buy a ticket online as per normal general sale, then just fly up. problem there is its not really planned, its more spontaneous which in itself can lead to issues perhaps getting planes, time off work etc etc. ah well, if it must be, it must be.

I'd just chose the game, book your flights and then just wait for the tickets to go on sale and you'll get them no problem (except huns game where you'd need to know a season ticket holder).

that's what I used to do before joining a supporters club, usually book the flights 6-10 weeks in advance and got tickets no problem directly from the club.

You'll get tickets for those games no bother, you'll be able to buy one on the day or buy one up to 2 weeks before on the website and get it sent out.

cheers, thats what i was looking for Danni (and all the other).

just pick a date and fly up and there SHOULD defo be tickets available. seems the best way to do it. sorted.

final question then, the Athletic Madrid game in November, expecting it to be a great european night game with a decent atmosphere or a damp squib or squid or whatever it is?

Athletico Madrid won't be a typical European home game for Celtic as the attendance and atmosphere will be adversely affected by the daft 6pm kick off time.

The closest thing you'll see to an atmosphere filled Paradise in European competition is the Rennes game earlier in November. 8pm kick off, 3rd of November.

Surely a member who is a season ticket holder could get him a couple of tickets?

I would, but I have a kids ticket which I don't think works, plus it would be a bit weird saying to my dad. "There's this Welsh guy on this internet site that I want to get an Old Firm ticket for" lol

Ammanvale once you know what game you will come up for consider a stadium tour.

    http://www.celticfc.net/about_visitorcentre.php

Drinks wise and night life if stopping over again ask and there'll be plenty of help given I'm sure. Plenty of Celtic bars near the stadium or within easy walking distance (20 minutes)

Atmosphere best by far will be the Rangers game but of the others you mentioned as possibles none of the other clubs have a large travelling support but I'd say maybe Hearts would bring the most through.

If the December 28th Rangers match is the main aim then you really need to rely on a season ticket holder trying to get extra tickets. Occassionally there are spares available for midweek night games and sold on the day by the club. Or outside the ground by supporters but no guarantee of that I'm afraid until the day.

Have you checked out Thomas Cook? They do match breaks but not sure what the costs are, that way you'd obviously get your tickets and your accommodation sorted completely and not have to worry about that.

from what ive seen on here before, Thomas Cook charge outrageous sums, unfortunatly im not in the best of financial situations especially as the same mate has now acted a * and decided he's having his stag do in edinburgh in february. ive told him that he's still coming to watch celtic in dec/jan or im not going his wedding so he's agreed to that.

aye stadium tour will be a given! a story I have is last yr my parents were drivingf around scotland as a anniversary holiday and my old man is like me in that he visits stadiums. he send me a picture of him outside ibrox looking pleased at seeing what i guess is a famous stadium. he got a txt back with a torrent of abuse. 20mins later he send me another big of him outside celtic park with an even bigger grin. good man. he almost lost a son.

anyway, demand for celtic/rangers is like cardiff/swansea but on a bigger scale so i know the unlikliness of getting ticks without help from a season ticket holder really. hopefully a night game might put some regulars off from travelling from afar due to work (from a selfish view ofcourse)

Mate, basically any game except the huns game you can book tickets on line through the celtic website. And you would probably get them in the Celtic shops in Glasgow on the day of the game.
