Was just listening to Hugh Keevins trying to defend this on SuperScoreBoard (never listen to it, only listened today because I wanted to hear their opinions on the article). Keevins said that this was ok because the Old Firm fans hate each other, they have hated eachother for 123 years and there is nothing we can do. The word hate is the correct one to use supposedly and we'll never stop hating eachother.

Its anti-Catholic propaganda. Even Delahunt was shocked at what Keevins was saying!

I would propose taking every sort of action possible against this rag but not a ban. If we ban them then we will be associated with the huns and their banning of the press. No distinction will be made between our just cause and their banning media for reporting the truth.

I genuinely cannot fathom how they can get away with this?

Please, please, please anyone who buys this paper please refrain from doing so. Not just saying you don't and then going buying it in the morning going to work. Strangle their readership, strangle their profit margin and they will die.

Read your news on the internet. Get information straight from the source and without biased slants all over the place.

I was extremely disappointed when I went to Spain earlier this year and found The Daily Record on sale.

    Statement from celtic:
CELTIC Football Club has issued a statement on a Daily Record article printed today.

The newspaper carried a back page headline asking: "WHO'S MORE HATED AT IBROX? (Is it Lennon or the taxman?)".

A spokesperson for Celtic Football Club commented:

"Clearly, given the year Neil Lennon and his family have experienced - with bombs, bullets, death threats and physical assaults - this kind of reporting is inflammatory, highly irresponsible and quite simply offensive. For this newspaper to treat the matter in this insensitive and ill-judged manner is astonishing.

Celtic has today been inundated with complaints from supporters relating to this story and the Club fully understands their feelings on this issue.

There is no question, on the eve of a Rangers v Celtic match to use "Lennon, "Hate" and "Ibrox" in a newspaper headline is extremely irresponsible.

Neil Lennon, his coaching staff and the Celtic players are very disappointed at this reporting and have jointly decided that they will not be co-operating with journalists from The Daily Record.

It is only right that the newspaper delivers a suitable retraction and apology.

Neil Lennon as always will continue to receive the full support of everyone at the Club."

I'm * ecstatic at this news. Celtic have taken the correct approach to this, by basically telling the * to * off. Serves them right. Great stuff :50:

That paper is a disgrace, this could prove to be its downfall. Lawwell is on the SPL or SFA Executive committee now (I think) I hope he proposes that they are punished, sanctioned, boiled in oil, or transported to another universe to report on R*****s fantasy transfers.

In all honesty, the police should be round at the Record's offices about this.

They are clearly attempting to inflame sectarian tensions, and are contravening the legislation.

These * are doing far, far more harm to the sectarian situation in this country than some wee moron chanting at Ibrox, and it's time the police * hammered them. Same goes if it was a Rangers manager or player they were targeting. The Record is public enemy no 1 as far as far as this *-stirring is concerned, and action now needs taken.

Sad excuse of a newspaper, with the club not co-operating with them. I would encourage those who still buy this paper to do similar.

No more Shuggy Keevins or Keith Jackson in Parkhead?

Maybe they have inadvertently done some good here.

I hope the news that Lenny and co. are now refusing to speak to them brings ever other Celtic supporter who still buys this rag to their senses and enables them to see that this rag is full of complete *.

And they can shove any generic apology they may have lined up straight up their arses too.
