Dudelange eliminated Salzburg after the game finished 4:3 for the Austrians. Dudelange are through on away goals rule. :icon_mrgreen:

I watched the entire match because the winner of this tie will face the winner of the tie between Maribor and Željezničar. Maribor won the first game at home 4:1 so everyone here was eager to see what Salzburg can do if/when we go through. And then this!

I find it that much harder to believe because Maribor played Dudelange last year in the CL qualifiers and blew them away as everyone would expect. And today Salzburg really didn't deserve to go through. Even this narrow victory was lucky, the second goal they scored was a lucky goal when the ball bounced of the arm of an Austrian defender who didn't even see it and ended up in the net. They also scored one from the penalty spot and played the last 15 minutes or so against only 10 Dudelange players. And still they couldn't go through.

Now I hope something similary fantastic doesn't happen in Sarajevo and that Maribor eliminate Željezničar. If we manage this and if we then eliminate Dudelange, we are only two games away from the Champions League and in the worst case scenario guaranteed a Europa Leage Group Stage spot. :celt_2:

Maribor leads 1:0 in Sarajevo. 5:1 on aggregate. :icon_mrgreen:

There is no TV coverage so I'm listening to this match on the radio and watching Celtic - Norwich on my computer. :icon_mrgreen:

    Well done.

One question abour Maribor - is Tavares bit of legend over there? Obviously not the same as Zahović on legend scale, but considering he played there for a while and not chasing money like most Brazilians do after one good season I thought he may be regarded as favourite player of the fans.

Yeah, you're right. This guy is a real legend here, he's been here for years. There's been some talk about a mega money transfer last summer when there was some Chinese club in the picture but in the end nothing happened.

And Tavares has always said he's going to live in Maribor after he retires even if he does leave the club at one point in the future. Which I now doubt will happen. His kids go to school here, they both speak Slovene, one of them even plays for one of the youth teams of NK Maribor. (both him and his dad won the league last year :icon_mrgreen: ) There was some talk in the past about him receiving our citizenship and maybe even playing for our national team.

The thing with Tavares is that he's a very religious guy and he's really calm and humble so he's not spending his nights in clubs and stuff like that.
