In no way intended to compete with the other thread, I loved both the wee man and MON as manager, but just wondered what people's best memories of that era are?

    Here are some of mine:

This match is one of my favourite matches under Gordon Strachan. I think I got as much pleasure out of this one as any of the big European nights to be honest.................

It was New Year's day so everybody was in the festive spirit before the game even started. We had a few Jambos in our local Irish pub watching the game that day as well.

10 mins gone and the Jambos were giving it big licks and chanting 'we want 5'. At HT a Jambo came up to me and was rubbing my nose right in it. All the Tims around me thought we were gubbed. I didn't though. I just had a feeling we were still going to win that day somehow. Stephen Pearson came on for Stan Petrov and the rest is history.

Coming out the pub that day everyone was just high as a kite. It was a great day that. And seeing Strachan jumping up and down on the sidelines was good too because the Jambos hated him for being a Hibby.

That was a great comeback right enough, in keeping with the spirit of the team at the time.

The wee man got some right abuse at time for not being 'Celtic Minded', but you've just got to look through the archives to see how much it meant to him.

Had a lot of highs under WGS.

Wasnt my cup of tea though.

However, will always have a special place for the titles he brought to us.

    * love his era. He brought us success and trophies.

Of course during his reign I thought our football was dire at times, but I think the following idiom really suits WGS and his work: You don't know what you got till it's gone.

the wee man was class, he never gave the media anything, but some of our fan did not like his stance on it, they wanted him to blab all that we where up to, in the end they got there way with there chants, and you know what WGS was right, when you look at what he had done and on a few occasions he put McGready in his place. and also Scotty. and Reardon he never suffered fools, and i suppose that was also his reason for giving up wining the fans over. shame really.

Favourite Celtic goal. We were down and out and even the fans (well the moronic Celtic "fans") had turned on him, but he turned it around and secured three-in-a-row, becoming the first Celtic manager to do so since Stein. And this goal gave us the impetus to do it when we were within a minute of drawing 1-1, realistically giving Rangers the title if we hadn't won that game, and the one we played shortly afterwards.

was some crackin memories with wgs in charge, i was at the spartak game when we won on pens to go through to the champs league, plus naka's last minute goal at killie that won us the league, naka's goal against the huns from 35yds was fantastic also but what tops all of that was the united game at cp with naka's free kick last 10mins of the game to put us into the knockout stages!!! Good times!

Nakamura and Boruc. They were the Strachan era, consistently the two best, great players to have, I absolutely loved them both. And both joined together for 2 of the best moments against Man United- Nakamura's 30 yard freekick with 10 mins to go, Boruc's injury time penalty save. Fantastic.

In full agreement with this Butch ,,,The Football was dire at times but like it or lump it its about results at the end of the day .

Strachan knew the press inside out and also knew the damage they could do so he choose not to give them respect because he got nothing back ,,we have slated the press on here since Lennon became the Manager when really Strachan exposed them for being * back then .

What that man had to put up with from his own support was shocking ,he is to be admired for what he achieved at Celtic but i really think his biggest achievement was how he left after 4 seasons without slating anyone ,when he had every right to.

The Man Utd game is my favourite ever Celtic match. I've never felt better after a game:)

The VoH goal turned me into a different person as well. I lost it and went crazy when that went in punching walls in my house and screaming!

    * magic. The trademark Heid punt, into the box. McDonald, of all the people, heads it over to big Jan who nods it in the net. I think this was one of the most massive GIRFUY-s we've given to the Orc mob.:50:

The Strachan years were great! Last 16 in the CL twice. Took AC Milan to extra time. 3IAR. Last minute winners. What more can you ask for? I'll never forget the memories he gave us, especially when we got 3IAR.

Down and out in April. Champions in May :50:

Wee Gordon Strachan was an excellant Celtic manager and very successful at the club i loved how his team had a never say die attitude as well always popping up with last minute goals most of the time. One of my favs was the last minute goal against AC Milan European Champions at the time and wee Skippy scored it and watching wee Gordons celebration was magic just before Dida hit the deck like a sack of spuds when a guy touched his face......
