Well last time out it was the Dubs who cheered me up in the All Ireland final after watching Celtic. Today it was Ireland with a really great effort against Italy which I was able to enjoy a recoring of after the Celtic game. Certainly Ireland were expected to win but really it was a great total performance that just ground down the Italians as the game wore on. In fact given Ireland had 2 tries unjustly not given Italy are a bit lucky in the end we only won 36-6.
Wales in the Quarter-Finals will be tough but this Irish team has it seems always been a confidence team. We either don't have any at all or we have it in spades. No question the team is playing with lots of confidence right now so hopefully we can produce another big performance against Wales.

Ireland Wales is going to be one * of a match. As is France England. England will fancy their chances after France's terrible display against Tonga. Australia should edge out a SA team who have been hit with some injuries and NZ will progress against Argentina, despite losing Carter. SFs on the all NH side are hard to call but I expect a NZ and Australia to face off against each other. Either way, we'll have a NH team in the final. Please * let it not be England!

    Here's what I'm hoping for....................

    Ireland v Wales - Ireland
    England v France - France
South Africa v Australia - Australia
New Zealand v Argentina - New Zealand

    Ireland v France - Ireland
New Zealand v Australia - Australia

Ireland v Australia - Happy with either but Ireland if I had to choose.

Same goes for Ireland. Wales couldn't step up to the plate in their big game. Ireland gave Australia a * lesson :86:

Really? I think Australia will give them a proper going over. SA have lost Steyn (who some people think is more important to the team than Carter is to NZ), which eliminates the threat of penalties from the 40-50 metre mark. There's no doubt he's a better 12 than JdV and a better 15 than Lambie. They've also lost Botha, who's a great influence on the team. Wales were unlucky to lose to them in the group stages. Australia will have learned their lesson from the Ireland match. I can see Australia winning and I'll even go as far as saying they'll beat NZ in the SF as well.

Ha yeah that's true. The only thing Argentina have going for them is the fact that NZ have Slade at fly half. I personally think he's terrible and they should be playing Weepu instead, at least he can kick. My bet for the SFs are

    England vs Wales
    New Zealand vs Australia

    with a final of

    Wales vs Australia
