There's a misunderstanding in the articles by the BBC and the Guardian. Sion didn't win "another court case" today. It's just a reaction from the court, who decided that we should be reinstated provisionally on Tuesday, to the fact that UEFA ignored this decree. So it gave out a 2nd decree today. But still... it won't change anything if you ask me.

Edit: You can move this thread to "world football" or so if you think it hasn't got to do much with Celtic anymore.

let them carry on ...would love it if they are still going to the court next may invalidating the final tie of the competition ......This must be costing them every time they go to court ...:56::56:

    I'm not picky.
This is gonna drag on & on & on because of that moron Constantin.

He just cannot accept that they done something wrong and let it lie now that he's been punished for it! He STILL believes that they are the victims. How can he honestly think that they will get reinstated AFTER the group stages have already begun?

Mad Vlad Mk II? He makes Vlad seem * sane!

So our loss to Atleti yesterday won´t count ?? :veryhappy:

To be serious: Thanks a lot for info Silvan, good Guy!! I read this too. Still, this won´t change anything to the ongoing EL competition (as you said in your 2nd post). The Sion case will be lasting, probably for long, but it won´t affect our Club as it most probably won´t affect the 2011/12 EL competition!

To be very honest: Myself being from Luxembourg, I regularly read about this whole mess in LUX papers (M. Mutsch!!)! I can´t really see it coming, but Sion might get some sort of compo: although they were (and still are, in my view) wrong, I do think that UEFA themselves have not done everything right in this case either... (I´m not going into details again!)

Anyhow, the ongoing legal row will not affect our Club as we did nothing wrong! It will turn out as a legal battle between FC Sion & UEFA about financial compensation - and I assume this only IF TAS rules in Sion´s favour!

Either way, Thanks a lot again for all your infos, and All The Best to you Silvan, and Sion Fans! Take care lads!

So welcome to Timdom for them :smile1: Hope they enjoyed it!

It's UEFA turn now. Either they reinstate Sion or they give them a final blow. The former is unthinkable, the latter would result in major opposition from Swiss politics (not only Swiss justice). They're in a very difficult situation now. The whole situation is about to explode, just like Constantin wanted it to.

    I've felt it coming, too.
Feels like he's just turning the cog and winding it up, waiting for UEFA to make a stupid move...

For the moment, Sion's fans can be a bit relieved I think, because UEFA is about to lose its almighty status in the case, as civil courts and politics are involved. They have to act way more diplomatic now and try to find a compromise. I don't see them drastically sanctioning Sion as long as courts decide in the clubs favour. For the first time in this saga, UEFA is more vulnerable than Sion...They'll now have to find the right words and do the right things - not really something they're good at.

UEFA should just give a massive * you to Switzerland after this, move their HQ and ban all Swiss teams from competitions for a good few years.

Does anyone think there is anychance even the sion fans on here that we Celtic will be removed from this group again ? . As far as i can gather in the statement from uefa is that yes sion gained provisional measures which says they are in the right and that the group should be atopped, but like uefa say anyone would win measures if the other side being uefa did not attend court to give their evidence ,

Celtic will stay in, no matter what (just my guess). First, UEFA agreed that Sion's players are qualified and thereby accepted the first superprovisional measures by the civil court of Martigny (Canton of Valais). Then they advised Celtic to protest and reinstated them after they lost on the pitch. Celtic took their 2nd chance, just like every other team would do. Not Celtic's fault.

UEFA intervened in an affair that was none of their business and anticipated the CAS' and civil court's (Canton of Vaud) decisions. Then they ignored the decision of the courts, just because it didn't please them. Now they have to face the consequences of their megalomaniac behaviour. They sure hope to get away with a fine.

Although Constantin is a maniac and shouldn't have bought these 6 players in the first place (they don't even make Sion any better, imo), things aren't as clear as they seem for you guys. UEFA has enough skeletons in their closet and their own jurisdiction is far from independent. It's no coincidence civil courts decide (provisionally!) in Sion's favour and threaten UEFA.

I´m not a legal expert but I defo can´t see that happen!!

I read there will be a meeting between UEFA & Sion at Swiss Court on Sept 27 (correct me if I´m wrong), and based on their verdict(s) this week, they´ll probably judge UEFA to be wrong! Still I don´t think this would affect the EL competition or us, Celtic, as UEFA do have to follow suit to their own decision! Anything else would make them looking like silly fools & cons!

I think the final judgement of "the Sion case" will depend pretty much on the CAS/TAS decision (due for end of Sept as far as I got it), but whatever they decide, I can´t see it affect the ongoing competition. I´m sure the whole stuff will turn into a legal & political mess later on, but this will be between Sion, UEFA, CAS & the Swiss Court! We Celtic should not giva a * on this: we did nothing wrong so we should not be affected!!

Not quite mate: As far as I got it, UEFA recommended us to appeal before 1st leg at CP, after warning Sion about the "possible" consequences if they play "uneligible?!" players ?? Correct me if I got sth wrong...

Anyway, UEFA certainly did wrong by just hoping us to beat Sion to avoid any later row... I won´t argue about that again: this is up to CAS / the Courts etc but it does not affect our Club any more!
