the law governs everything and everyone or nobody would be able to sue for any reason whatsoever.

if the law judges that UEFA were in the wrong compensation would be entitled if not deserved.

Yes, I know and it is obviously a fair point. It's just that from a common sense standpoint, this is an issue that should not be dealt with in courts.

It would be similar to any team going to court over red card suspensions for their players, that's what strikes me as odd.
If CAS were to overturn this, then Sion would be entitled to a compensation, as it will be too late to reinstate them.

Celtic are not bothered either way, it's UEFA's mess now.

Because UEFA will have broken the laws and rulings of courts in Switzerland when Sion arent allowed to participate in the Europa League. The only remedy left will be financial compensation unless Sion can get the competition stopped until this is sorted.

Guys, just relax and be happy about playing on Thursday. No need to insult us (Gimenez is not even a Sion but a Lugano supporter).

Anyway, this is not about Celtic anymore (even before it wasn't really) but about UEFA and the Swiss Law, which told UEFA to reinstate us provisionally. Consequences will be dramatical as no organisation is above the law, but as I said... you guys shouldn't care about this anymore for now. Have a good game in Madrid. Topic to be closed?

Hope this is all over now, though thanks for the input throughout. Feel sorry for you and other Sion fans, and good luck with the rest of the season :50:

I would still love Sion to turn up, in the stadium and on the pitch - just for the sheer comedy.

We've had enough comedy in this thread today to last a lifetime. There were people on this forum who actually though Sion were going to get reinstated to the Europa League.

Let's get serious here lads! Did anyone really think we were going to get bumped out of Europe days before a game which has television deals in place and travel arrangements set up for?

    Of course not.

Just to let you know: UEFA's decision was only based on Sion appeal. They did not yet react on the superprovisional measures imposed on them by the Swiss court.

Honestly, I can't see UEFA back down and reinstate Sion any time in the future. Way too embarrassing, especially for Platini. You guys can just go on and enjoy your European nights, have fun! Me, I'll just enjoy this wonderfully staged drama between Goliath UEFA and David Sion, who is now joined by Godzilla (the Swiss law).

    I thought we'd stay in.

It's easy to see why people had doubts and were worried though, UEFA have become a bit of a laughing stock. Even though they have made the correct decision, it went too far as expected.
