My French is very poor but sounds like Swiss local court has given Sion the right to play.

What UEFA do if I'm translating it right is anybody's guess.

I wouldn't exclude the option of a group of five teams now. We'll see what happens.

Silvan this Cantonal court is that the one UEFA are governed by also? What I and many don't get is why a local court can go against a Supreme court which has already ruled against Sion.

Supreme Court ruled against Sion, but not in this case. They confirmed the transfer ban. However, the question now is if Sion served the ban or not, hence the duration of the ban. Civil Court might say to UEFA: You should let Sion play until the CAS make a decision on this.

(It is stated in the rules of the CAS by the way that you are entitled to call Civil courts in order to obtain superprovisional measures)

And I really wouldn't say that Swiss Courts are biased. Let alone this one, because it is located in the same area as UEFA, who - believe me - have much more power than some little Swiss Football club.

Not really. The supreme court's decision was about the transfer ban. This is not. These cases have nothing to do with each other.

UEFA made this mess themselves by first qualifying Sion's players and later excluding Sion for fielding these players. CAS and the Swiss court(s) have to sort things out before UEFA can take any decision. They never should have intervened. They could well let Sion play the EL group stage and punish them later.

What exactly are these superprovisional measures? According to some of the reactions below the article, these measures do not mean a lot.

so what is the point in a football governing body when a swiss court makes the decision here? pointless and an absolute farce.

If Sion are reinstated then surely Atletico, Udinese and Rennes are just going to complain aswell though if any of the banned players influence a game??

no decision has been made by UEFA yet, only this Swiss court which has no right to tell FIFA or UEFA how to run their competitions.

I'll be very surprised if UEFA perform a U-turn especially two days before the first round of games; if they did they'd surely be open to an appeal by Celtic so I cant imagine they'd want to open that can of worms.

Sion won't get back in. UEFA won't let them, that's the long and short of it.
