Theres a huge difference in playing smart in a defensive formation and playing like the huns though

Go out attack and get pumped 5-0. Play a bit more defensve and sneak a point, I know which i would prefer. I don't care if we play defensive away from home, it has to be done.

We have to be careful and make sure we don't go gung ho, a heavy defeat will not be good for morale ahead of the OF game.

Aye fair enough lads. I am just fed up of going defensive away from home and getting * all from it. Mowbrays high point was beating Dinamo Moscow where we attacked them and got the 2-0 win. I wouldnt be too confident about our defence holding out against the likes of Diego and Falcao. Imo the Athletico defence are there for the taking but I agree with you`s saying that it could be major risk

Gotta be off your nut to throw Bangura right into the starting 11 in Europe I think. He should be a sub the next 2-3 games at least. Even in the Motherwell fixture. Thats just how I see it. Sure he knows how to score goals, as should any striker. But he hasn't settled into this team yet at all and there is liable to be a huge disconnect. Not all players are capable or lucky enough for those spectacular debut goals. Up front I'd go with Hooper and Stokes. Drop Hoop if its not working and try Bangura. Hoop seems to be either on or off, while Stokes can seem to be ineffective and suddenly break through with a beautiful goal out of nowhere.

The best place to defend is in the oppositions penalty box. * attack the * right from kick off, get right in their faces, dont give them a seconds peace. Let them know we're there for 3 points, and only 3 points. Show them no respect. None of this long balls pish. Pass the ball. Keep possession. Close them down and put their defence under pressure. Don't let them think we're the underdogs here, absolutely no chance! We are Celtic :50:.

2 wingers. No Samaras. No Brown.

    Forster
    Wilson Wilson Mulgrew El Kaddouri?
    Kayal Ledley
    ----------------------------------Forrest-----Ki-----Commons
    Stokes

Subs; Zaluska, Matthews, Rogne, Brown, McCourt, Bangura, Hooper

I've got a feeling if Forrest plays, he'll score and get MOTM

    2-1 Forrest & Mulgrew

Playing Hooper as a lone striker would be like being a man down. He's only useful in games where he's got loads of service and players around him, which won't happen aganst Athletico.

I'll be raging if we go one up front. We play some of our best stuff when hooper and stokes are up front together and are linking well with each other. let's go there and actually have a go and try score some goals, if we go there and get pumped then I'll still be happy in the knowledge that we had a go. For those who say that we should rest players so they're not tired for next Sunday, these guys are proffesional footballers and the season has just begun, tired legs should not be a problem so I'd expect them to complete 180 minutes no problem.

We have to go 2 up top aswell I reckon. The lone striker will be isolated and it'll just be attack after attack from Atletico and they'll make the breakthrough sooner than later with their quality. Have to take the game to them.

Am not really bothered what way we set up, there are good and bad points to every system. We are away from home to Atletico Madrid so we are expected to be beaten, they are the favourites and we have got an abysmal record away from home in Europe (although outside the CL group stages our away record is a bit better).

I remember playing 4-4-2 under WGS away to Shakhtar Donetsk and we were 2-0 down in the first ten minutes and it could have been four or five early on it was that much of a mauling, but this is a different team we have and maybe this team would make a better attempt at a 4-4-2 away from home in Europe.

I am just looking forward to the game and curious to see how we cope with Atletico Madrid as they are the strongest team we will have faced under Lennon in a competitive game.
