Hopefully he is the 'target man' and 'top quality' striker Lenny was talking to the press about.

Really hope we have sorted out some pre-contract/first dibs on him, looking at the video he lookslike the powerhouse striker we have been crying out for since big bad john/sutton left.

I think we have first dibs on him in January

I also think we should have bought Omer Damari
    League - 8 goals 10 games
    International - 3 games 2 goals

This may have been covered in this thread but can't be bothered to trawl through 46 pages....I know it's only Football Manager but in my game (FM12) he is signed to arrive at Celtic during the january transfer window. I found that a bit weird that they'd put that into the game without solid info as to whether it would happen or not. They must have been pretty confident this transfer was a done deal!

NEIL LENNON’S search for more firepower to add to his already potent strikeforce could take him back to Portugal for Baba Diawara.

After a deal had been agreed between the clubs, the Senegalese hitman just missed out on a transfer to Parkhead on the final day of the summer window when difficulties over a work permit caused it to collapse.

The Hoops then bought Mo Bangura from AIK Stockholm for £2million, but the Sierra Leone international has yet to make any real impact at the club.

Lennon went to watch Diawara for himself just before the last window closed, and was impressed by what he saw.

He has continued to monitor the form of the 6ft 1in 23-year-old, who has bounced back from the disappointment of not getting his long-awaited move from CS Maritimo by banging in 10 goals in just 13 appearances this season.

His latest strike for the Funchal-based club came at the weekend and was his sixth in their last six games, a run which has propelled him to top spot in the Portuguese league scorers’ list.

Diawara hit the opener in the 2-2 draw away at Nacional, and the man who is under contract until 2013 is now within four of his total for all of last season.

The Parkhead boss has revealed he wants to add a quality central defender and striker to his squad when the window re-opens in four weeks.

When asked if Diawara is someone he might think about again in January, Lennon refused to rule it out.

He said: “We are going to have a look. He is doing well in Portugal, but it might just be a different type we are looking for, more physical.”

Lennon is also aware of the young talent which is ready to burst through to swell his squad. Dylan McGeouch is the latest to make the leap, and the 18-year-old scored a wonder goal to complete the 5-0 rout of St Mirren on Saturday.

McGeouch – who made his debut as a sub at Motherwell at the start of the month and who was also on the bench for the last two games – can’t be involved against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday as he was not registered for the Group Stage games.

The attacking midfielder was even omitted from the B squad players, which is made up of youth team players who have been brought through the ranks, as he was still recovering from a close-season foot operation when the names were submitted to Uefa.

    This means...

"We are going to have a look. He's a good player. But in the end we'll not sign him and sign some dud for less money instead as that's what we usually do."

dud like hooper stokes mulgrew kayal or ledley? Lennon has generally not signed duds. The only one who has not yet settled into the team and produced is Bangura but its too soon to fully write him off.
